I guess living with you she really didn't have any choice (LOL) but it's cool that she seems to be enjoying the video side of life! I loved it when Ashtyn said "Be careful" when Mike was cleaning the 2nd bin. It sounded more obligatory than cautionary, like she's so used to saying it without it being heeded. Also, I'm not sure Mike could even hear it while washing full blast inside the bin.

I could see you putting a drainage channel underneath the silos, so that when you clean them out with water it could go into the drains and run into a collection area to pump later..or to use in the reservoir..

Hey Mike....great vid as ever!👍 But don't wash those fert bins. I build them. They need to stay dry...any moisture and the rot sets in. If they're damaged and fert sticks, brush it off and treat/paint....but keep them dry, full or vented. Never washed. Water + most ferts = pain. Try it, then pretend you're steel 🤯 Do what you like with the corrugated grain silos! 🙃

Hi Mike I can understand washing the outside of those bins because of the corrosive nature of fertilizer on steel and the road salt that got on them but those smooth sided Westeel bins are epoxy lined too help make the fertilizer slide down without sticking and epoxy doesn’t rust. I used too haul fertilizer from the railhead to the local co-op too fill bins like that and keep them full during the season and they used them for over ten years before the co-op merged with a couple other co-ops and they moved the operations to another sight and stopped using the bins and they stood empty for another ten years before they sold them and moved them out. they had never been washed out and they still looked brand new on the inside so the epoxy coating works

The obvious answer: It takes more than one firepersons to wrangle a fire hose on flat ground. Your suggesting it would be easier to climb the exterior of the bin, introducing fall hazard, to stand atop the bin (with fall protection? you taking extra time to do that? Remember Mike said he dont' have time) and hold a hose with one hand? while you hold on to the ladder with the other hand? While everything is wet and slippery. Yea that sounds SUPER SAFE. So obvious he should be doing that. lmao. The more obvious answer: the hose is to short.
