I’m a complete novice in this so please excuse the lack of knowledge. So three ends of the coils are wired together and and the other end of the coils are staggered connection to the main cable going around the circumference?

It used three phase 170 . you can pick any generic ebike bldc controller (sensorless) from 36-90 V, not sure about the amps I'm still experimenting

I got also one of that motor but want to use it as n wind turbine. Is that the way to rewire it to work as a generator. It generate 240 v but low watts at a speed of 3000 rpms as it is with not rewiring

It works better if you remove the aluminum wire 9 poles on opposite sides making a total of 18 poles for generation of power and wire the rest 9 on opposite sides with 1.5 mm 100% cooper for more resistance and run it with just 100 watts 48 volts ebike controller. It works very well.

I'm pretty sure these are aluminum wires with 'copper' looking enamel coating, so soldering them is not going to work. You need mechanical joints with maybe epoxy to hold them together.

I have a question can a 36 pole be turned into two 18 poles, so one set of 18 is used as motor and the other 18 poles used as a generator?

There is no reason to do this because you can have a controller use the whole motor as a generator when you want

​@@rpkr5543 His question is valied coz with 48 VDC and controller you can run the motor and get out put of 415 AC from the other have and to my experience I cut turn a 2000 watts cooker coil red hot. It means it's over unity

you said it's difficult to get solder to stick, what kind of flux are you using?

I had no issues making the solder stick. Just grind the top layer off for a silver finish. i used regular leaded solder wire with a flux core. (Stannol HS10)
