You should install a filter with polyphosphate for your washing machine. It prevents scale buildup, and increase the efficiency of washing. You installed a polypropylene one, it will catch dirt for you, but it is better to give it to the main water inlet for the whole house, you can also add a carbon one there. And for the washing machine polyphosphate:) Replace once every six months.
