At Fårtoft Genetics, they invested in a washing robot in the summer of 2022 and have now had a year and a half to assess their thoughts on the new assistant in their daily operations. They use the robot both in farrowing, nursery and finishing barns.
Operations Manager Rasmus Møller states about the robot that it has made a significant difference and truly improved productivity, allowing employees to accomplish more each day while the robot handles the toughest part of the washing work. For Rasmus, it’s a natural progression that washing work in pig production is also becoming automated, similar to other advancements in agriculture such as feeders, tractors with GPS, and so on. In a few years, washing robots will likely be standard in any modern pig barn.
