Washing Your Hands with Soap And Water

This is a short clip that shows how to wash your hands correctly with soap and water, within a medical environment. Doing this correctly is an important first step in infection control within all medical establishments. This clip was originally used by Medical Students at the University of Leicester as part of a larger teaching package.

I presume you mean 'pat' them dry, but she presses them dry with the towels, she does not rub them which is the main thing to avoid as it chafes the skin. Dry/cracked skin is a problem as it can harbour germs that this normal washing technique will not remove as easily, so don't rub hands dry, pat or press dry or use a hand dryer. When using a dryer be patient and make sure the hands are totally dry, no good finishing the job by wiping them on the seat of your trousers! Dyson dryers are quickest

I think you have missed a bet in not cluing in folks who may not be health workers, and who find themselves in a bathroom with a door that opens inward. They may not know that in getting out they have gotten their hands dirty again. Please produce some posters that can be placed in ordinary public bathrooms showing people how to use a dry paper towel for this purpose. It's so easy but hardly any of the health professionals mention this in their hand washing instructions.

the end is wrong, when you rinse your hands after scrubbing with soap, you rinse them separately because if you touch hands while rinsing you are just recontaminating them.

because when i wont to throw my dirty hand drying towel, i use my foot. Bathroom dose not have a foot pressure pad to open the lid. Fuck.
