Although I'd rather have these dirty games with teams, more fun to watch, gets your heart pumping, and will teach both teams a lot and help get ready for a long season. The Eagles had this game won with 1:36 to go, but they could have run the clock down and kicked the winning field goal. Instead they gave the Commanders too much time to March down the field for the tying TD and send the game into overtime. Jalen Hurts played a whole lot better today finding A.J. Brown down the field all game. Credit Sam Howell for hanging tough throughout the game and when he had his chance to make plays, he did just that. This was an enjoyable game

I don't entirely disagree, but your defense has to clamp down at some point. Can't let them drive down and score at the last second like that. Plus AJ Brown taunting penalty was dumb. Not saying much because AJ had a whale of a game, but he's got to have better situational awareness than that. You don't taunt when your team is up by only a TD and you just gave the other team 1.34 to tie the game.

Howell is developing well. I liked how he was poised with his INTs against the Bills. He and the team just has to practice scramble drills more, and he should practice the off angle throws he might attempt in a game, the way Mahomes does. Very impressive young QB.

As a redskins fan I think there’s too many talented QBs in the league for Sam Howell to be taken seriously. His release is slow as well as his reads and he either holds onto the ball too long to take a sack or just lofts it up for grabs. There is a lot of talent on the offense but his arm and timing is just too mediocre to take advantage of it and it’s embarrassing because it’s the same problem year after year just wasted talent because for over a decade the redskins have been picking QBs who are just mediocre when it’s not hard to watch footage of how someone performs in college or traded from another team to tell if they have a high ceiling or not.

Even though they lost, it’s amazing how much the addition of Eric Bienemy has vastly improved this Commanders offense. They just have to shore up that O-line some more. Sam Howell is absolutely their QB of the present and future, though. He’s so poised and calm, despite dealing with high pressure situations. That last-minute drive and last-second touchdown to get them into OT was not something just any Rookie QB can pull off.

Even though Washington lost, this still overall mostly feels like a W. Going down to the wire against the Eagles on their turf for the 2nd year in a row is an accomplishment in itself. That 1:43 drive to tie the game showed that Howell can really be clutch for us in the toughest moments, which is the most essential part of being a starting QB. One major Issue I have tho is that I really thought that Rivera should've made the decision to go for 2 after that final touchdown to just finish off that incredible drive for the win, but unfortunately that was not the case. Anyway, GG to the Eagles because they played an incredible game regardless, and I look forward to watching the rematch in a month.

The matchup between one of the better D and O lines this league had to offer didnt disappoint in my book but I'm pretty impressed by Howell of the Commanders. Last week was a burn the film kind of game and he clearly did just that. When he sees the throw develop he quickly gets it out of his hand; its hard to tell whats by design via Eric or just him processing the route quickly in spite of pressure. I'm curious as a fan of neither team to see how well this kid grows.

Disappointing loss for the Redskins, but they put up a good fight on the road against one of the best teams in the NFC. The GM in Philly has done a great job building that roster. Very good on both lines, a good young qb, and some very nice skill position players.

Its hard to beat a team when they dont make any mistakes and this was mistake free football from both sides. Hell of a game eagles I always hate to lose a close one but im proud of the way my team executed in a hostile environment. I think we might've found ourselves a QB tho

This game hurt for a lot of reasons. But can we just feel proud and give praise to Sam Howell? With all of the adversity that man has faced since the 37-3 loss to the Bills last week, he has done an extremely great job recovering and had himself a game today. I know we'll hear about the defense's lack of stops and how we got screwed by the refs all week on sports radio in the DMV, but this was a really good game on Howell, Terry and Jahan and I couldn't be prouder as a Commanders fan. Eagles fan - Philly’s defense benefitted from a weak schedule. Goff was the best QB we played until the SB. Defense was so overrated last year. It’s better this year
