My goodness, your "cherry comment" was hysterical. LOL!!! Y'all really need to come back to the DC area. You missed the big air and space museum in VA that you can visit the space shuttles, and other planes. Like the ENTIRE shuttle. The hanger is that big. Also the MLK and Roosevelt memorials are so moving. The waterfront and the DC Navy Yards have a lot of things to do. I think you parents would love to visit DC too. It's just a nice city to visit.

What a fabulous day you two had. The Smithsonian museums are something else. Not that I have been - yet. But they are my reason to go to Washington. Plus the Library of Congress (retired librarian here). The scooters are the way to do it…. of course if the software is not malfunctioning. Leigh did not skip a beat with Nicks comment at the end…. thats professional 😂😂♥️

The Smithsonian has 21 museums, plus the National Zoo in Woodley Park/Cleveland Park in DC. (The Zoo is dead set between the two neighborhoods. Soon to have two more pandas.) One of the museums is in New York City.

As I recall, you could spend several days just doing nothing, but going to the museums around the Mall. I definitely remember the Air and Space Museum, particularly seeing Lindbergh’s Spirit of St. Louis. I also had that cap with the Mickey Mouse ears, as well as an Etch-a-Sketch, when I was a kid. For some reason, I’ve never been to Ford theater, though I did see a play at Kennedy Center in Washington. There is certainly plenty more for you to see if you ever get back to Washington!

I got to see A Christmas Carol at the Ford theater in about 1984. About 10 years later we went to visit again and took our children. We visited the museum downstairs and the house where Lincoln died then. My seat in the theater in 84 was on the first floor, and I could see Lincoln's flag-covered theater box from my seat.

I loved this vlog! DC has always been a favorite vacation spot for me. There is soooooooo much to do and see there. You barely scratched the surface of what you can see and do. Did you see the Changing of the Guard at Arlington? That is a MUST to see when visiting there.

I really enjoyed this vlog.My wife prefers Washington over New York. We last visited in 2000 and I remember everything was free even the Zoo.We went in lots of museum, went in the Capitol building. We got the metro over to Arlington and we were there at least 2 hours aswell as JFK Robert Kennedy is also buried there a wooden cross marks where he is. Some of the astronauts from The Challenger space shuttle are also buried there.One of the most moving things we saw was at the Vietnam War Memorial, where people were finding the names of relatives and doing rubbings of their names. Looking forward to the next leg of the trip as we have also travelled down those Virginia roads

I don’t recall Arlington Cemetery being so close. We seemed to be on the coach for a long time. Maybe got caught up in traffic? I thought it was so beautiful and peaceful there. There was a full military funeral going on when we were there.

Awww, thank you for taking me on the tour of my hometown (I no longer live there and now I'm homesick, in a good way...). So glad you got to experience the US nation's capital - yes, there's so much more to see in the city and one can spend days just at The Mall in the Smithsonian buildings alone! Hey, wasn't the reflection pool between Lincoln Memorial & Washington Monument used in the Forest Gump movie when he rushes in the water to hug Jenny? Maybe they didn't film it there and it was Hollywood magic, I don't know...

It is a little odd to hear you talk about all the movie references as you go around NY and DC - as a “local” I don’t think about the movies as much - kind of a unique perspective. Fun vlog - I hope you enjoyed seeing the sites.

Heyyy We watch your vlogs most days - but I've always wondered why don't you ever visit/do anything LGBT related? Not a criticism - just would love to see it...
@TheLodgeGuys Жыл бұрын
Not something we have thought about tbh. We appreciate all the amazing people who have come before us and continue to campaign for lgbtq rights. It's because of them that we feel safe living our lives openly and hopefully us putting vlogs out showing that two gay men just living "normal" lives we are hopefully doing our bit that way. But we don't ever feel we need to visit many lgbtq places 💙💙
@joshwheeler8530 Жыл бұрын
@The Lodge Guys oh cool - thanks! You are absolutely right - visibility is just as important which you do perfectly. If you did do something like that I'd love to see it :) Thanks- and to clarify, defo, not a criticism :)

If we were worried about losing subs over gay issues then we wouldn't vlog... Being a married gay couple. We put our lives out everywhere on social media as a gay couple. Just because you're gay doesn't mean you have to wear rainbows. We show it in every video and post we do simply by being us......although I do love a good rainbow coloured item. Love from Leigh ❤️💙💛🧡
@joshwheeler8530 Жыл бұрын
@The Lodge Guys Firstly, sorry about this. Secondly, Vernon, they do show it and therefore raise awareness. Their fans obviously see and get that, too. Awareness is already there with them - my Q was about going/doing LGBT things, which they answered clearly about 'being' rather than 'showing', which makes sense :)
@TheLodgeGuys Жыл бұрын
Don't worry josh. Nothing to be sorry about. Conversation on these topics is always a good thing. Maybe we should visit more lgbtq places. It's certainly something for us to think about and come from you starting this conversation. 🧡💛💙
