I miss the sounds of the Rohr's! The system sounds too saturated in Alstom ONIX motors these days...

Dan Cluley, is the train in the video from 0:19-4:48 a 3000-series or a 4000-series Breda?
@dreamyyx_37625 жыл бұрын
Thats actually the 1000 series. That was the first series when Metro opened in 1976

I believe that is a OG 2K Because it didnt have buzzing, it had the handrails made of rubber and it didnt have the same push to talk as OG 3K & 4Ks.

3000 series, as the buzz was much stronger

I think that’s a OG 1000 series. It’s way to quiet to be a OG 2000 series
@plushynoob34633 жыл бұрын
As for the train they were ridding on, that would be a OG 3000 series, sense the 4000 series were starting to arrive and enter service at the time this video was made

omg wow i cant believe i just saw a video from 1991, the second greatest year in history behind 1989. i always except it to be so ancient in 1991 but its so modern, like i can't believe they had trains back then, i can't believe all the technology they had then, wow, and they spoke english just like they do now.

So Rohr cars were silent back then?
@PaulClipMaster8 жыл бұрын
They were rehabbed in the mid 90's. That's why the sound different today than when they were originally delivered. Same goes for the 2k and 3k cars. Those originally looked and sounded like the current 4k cars.

Paul ClipMaster Before they were rehabbed, the 2000 series cars were almost silent, and before the 3000 series cars were rehabbed, they did sound a bit like the current 4000 series cars. I just wanted to know if the 1000 series cars were silent before they were rehabbed (if they were ever taken into rehabilitation).

from other videos, it appears the Rohrs were silent before rehab, even quieter than the 2000 series were. That being said, the original propulsion on them at times sounds oddly similar to the current 7000 series cars, similar to the similarities in the Connecticut Dept of Trans. M2 and M8 propulsions. Completely different systems but similar sound.

They had cam controllers like the 2000 series (pre-rehab)
