H gates are near Z in the main terminal but you take short escalator up there intended to be hardstand Gates that are serviced by a mobile lounge. Southern Airways Express is the primary user but they don't use mobile lounges.

I flew out of IAD recently. Gate D5 was way too small for a full 777. The gate lice was unbelievable however riding in a packed mobile lounge was kind of an unusual experience.

The C and D gates used to be the A and B gates until 1998 when they opened the newer, bigger and more modern concourse - that became the new A and B gates and this became the C and D gates

Hi Chris Me and my wife really like your videos. We live Cambridge, MD and fly out of Dulles allot. My is Vietnamese so we fly ANA from to Tokyo and on Saigon. We are doing our yearly trip at Christmas this for three weeks. We taking a trip in February to Japan. I been the airports in Tokyo 10 never been out see Japan. We are to Tokyo Osaka and also Nara it just a week trip and AA miles. In Nara they sika deer there and the temple where they worship them. Here in Dorchester County MD they released 6 of them that man bought from a carnival in Cambridge in 1912. It will great to see sika deer in Nara knowing that all the ones we have in Dorchester County are descendants of them. Have been to Nara Japan? I know you allot wonderful videos of Japan. Thank you Phil

The H-Gates are really just a Mobile Lounge waiting area that are used for the rare occasion that the lounges serve their original purpose of driving passengers directly out to their flights.

Thanks for the explanation on the cheap eats at the airport. I was wondering why McDonalds was so inexpensive.

I do like that they have the same requirement as Portland, Oregon (PDX), that they have to have the same prices as their off-airport locations. I remember when I was little and we had to use the mobile vehicle to get to our plane.

Agreed. Prices are nice

Airport officials say that Terminal C and D will be here to stay for another 20 years. This means it won’t be until 2045 until we see this terminal bening demolished. 2045 will be here before we know it as time flies fast these days
@WoodJack993 күн бұрын
That would be a whopping 6 decades of service…not quite so temporary.

It was built in the 80s with the intention of being temporary. By as we all know by now, that’s not what happened.
