Fisch had one good year, and quite frankly got lucky with the emergence of Fafita at QB. I could see this going either way. Fisch may be the real deal, but it's also possible last year's success at Arizona was a fluke.
@MichaelBrown-ti1un10 ай бұрын
Nice rebound by Washington, everything else considered. That arizona team Fisch had this past season going into next year, imo, had a chance to do what washington did this year. I could've easily seen Arizona be preseason ranked somewhere between 10-12. First order of business for Fisch should be to get Furtitta to transfer from Arizona to Washington. Huskies have a pretty easy schedule next year, and could win 10 games in their inagural Big 10 season.
@deanfirnatine781410 ай бұрын
I would not call that a easy schedule on the road against Oregon and you have to play Michigan and there usually is someone else that has a great year out of nowhere in the conference, UW does get lucky not playing Ohio St. With all the turnover, new coach etc UW will be maybe 9-3.

@@markzylstra2947 ya'll are naming the top schools in the Big 10 (Michigan, Oregon, Ohio State), not the dregs of the conference, which is most of it. I'm not sure just how good either USC or Penn State will be next year. Neither's a national title, CFP or Big 10 conference contender next season imo. Washington can win 9 or 10 games, provided Fisch gets the quarterback from Arizona to follow him there. The kid's really good, and was obviously overlooked by the "experts" who give out stars to these high school prospects.

I sure want Arizona to make the playoffs next year. Coach Fisch is one of my favorites indeed. Wow I am shocked UW got him I had a lot of doubts. This is mind blowing. UW I think is going to be really hard to beat in the Big 10.
@MichaelBrown-ti1un10 ай бұрын
Not that mind blowing at all. Arizona is a pit-stop job, not a destination. Fisch had a really good team returning next year, and was likely going to fight it out with Utah, the Kansas schools, and Oklahoma State for the Big 12 title, and a potential spot in the CFP. More resources, more money at Washington, however. And he's in the Big Ten, a major conference, not the Big 12, a competitive but lesser conference. It was a no-brainer decision for Fisch.
@Hope-Vision10 ай бұрын
wow you broke it down well. I just did see it because he wasn't there that long and barely lost three games and beating OK too in their bowl game that is incredible. At times I'm stuck in a 70s mindset I don't like to shuffle around too much. For example no amount of money could get me in a large Metro area to live. I've had my share of it. As a UW alum, I don't want this to sound like sour grapes, but in Jedd Fisch you get a guy who is a proven recruiter with extensive experience in both the college ranks and the NFL. Imagine sitting a a kid's living room telling him you worked with the likes of Bill Belichick, Pete Carroll, Jim Harbaugh, etc. and knows what it takes to get to the pros. Kalen DeBoer has never been anywhere long enough to build a program, and his recruiting acumen is incomplete at best. Frankly, I think the Dawgs may have won the coaching lottery.

UW needs to find someone who is interested in building a legacy at Washington, or the coach carousel will continue. UW has proven on more than one occasion that it has enough regional talent and recruitment appeal to be a national contender, and now that it is in the B1G, its athletic department will get even more money than it got in the Pac 12.
