👍To you and Kelly for following LNT and proper food storage. Bears a smart and once they find a food source they keep coming back then it doesn't take long for them to loose their fear of humans. Main campsite was beautiful but when you came over the last bit of hiking WOW that was breath taking. What a fantastic lake and the views all around it were to die for. Come on winter! for me anyway so I can get out and camp, Hope the van gets done soon. Nice of Kelly to pick you up and hang with her.

Beautiful scenery.... The forrest, lakes, and mountains. Sure makes me wish I was young again and could get out and explore like that. Also makes me sad that I didnt when I was younger. But, all in all I am happy with the life I’ve lived. Teaching career, wife and family have all been wonderful. The wife and I have been exploring some of the western states the past 10 yrs since we retired. While we are not able to access places like the lakes you visited, our Jeep does get us into some beautiful places in places like Colorado, Utah and Az. Thanks for sharing with us the beauty that exists out there..

Whew! 3K feet in 3 miles is a lot of vertical. Good on you for staying in shape for that. I've had knee issues as well; last hike I took it was actually my ankle that was protesting. Use it or lose it. Glad Kelly was there to help you get through your homeless period, and I hope you got good news on the van. Thanks for sharing.

That's a gorgeous area, kind of reminds me of the Cougar Res. area we camped at. There is some good free camping just to the south of Cougar Res. along that forest road if you keep going past where we turned to camp and go down about 3 or 4 miles. If you guys find yourself back in that area give it a look.
