Looking at all those tall, majestic trees that have been standing there for 100's of years. Like they are speaking to us to relax and breathe for a minute. That life is short and we will miss what is important. With all the craziness that has been going on in the world. Go into the forest, look around and listen to all the sounds. The trees are teaching us a lesson.

We drove from Tacoma and camped on the east side of Olympic NP. Took an evening hike from the campground, thought it was circular, not, it was getting dark in the deep woods, heard a sound above our heads, it was a SPOTTED OWL!!! It followed us along the trail for a while. Wonderful experience. A magical place. So glad you got to backpack a bit.

Some are. If you are ever in the San Francisco area, go to the Muir Woods park. It is just North of San Francisco. There are giant old growth Redwoods there. Back during the days of logging, that area was not easy to get trees out of, so it was bypassed.
