Casinos cry how much they lose a day but they are really not hurting. They profit hand over fist. They act like if they don’t open, they will have to sell. Ppl complain we need to open Vegas and I agree we need to open. Casinos can wait till the last phase. Seeing how they want to implement procedures for slots and tables is a joke. They want an enhanced versioned what they were doing before the close. So many things they forget needs to be done. Before this epidemic dealers deal games and floors observe amd game protection. Now casinos pass on so many things on dealers and floors that they care less on game protection. So sad. Table games department is dealers, floors, porters, hosts, concierge’s, player services, and more. More responsibility yet no pay. There has never been a cost of living raise just a 3% max a year if you work hard. That sums to about 14 bucks a paycheck more after taxes. Not sure how that is a raise over rising costs where the big top ppl continue to get huge bonuses. Many new corporate ppl are hired with a degree not experience. Pathetic.

Dear Resort/Casino Owners.......you want to get people back to Las Vegas? Of course you do, and here's a way that you can really help, and I'll give it to you for free......Lose the resort fees, those fees are just straight up robbery, you book a room for , say, a $150 and then when you check in, guess what? Another $40 in extra fees, that's called nickel and diming the customer to death and turns off the people, and that's $40 bucks or more that won't be spent in your casino at the tables, and what do you get for resort fees? A pool towel, a sketchy workout room and Wi-Fi....whoop de do. Another thing to get rid off, and another rip-off is.....paying to park at a hotel where you are a registered and paying guest, can you add more of an insult? I think not. Also consider your pricing structure....$48 dollars plus tip for two drinks at the pool? Isn't that a bit much? And $175 dollars for dinner for two where the service and food was pedestrian at best. You've got some problems Las Vegas. I know what I speak of, I used to live there in the '70's when it was still a cool place to go and where food and drink was reasonable and also where the customer was KING and you received value for your money and you were considered worthy of being treated well. In any case, I have many choices where and how I spend my money and Las Vegas hasn't been on the list for years, so, Casino/Resort operators....print this out and study it every day until you understand it.

We are strong and we will get through this as well. But for all those that are complaining, no one is forcing you to come here. Not everyone that lives here works in the hotels or hospitality industries. I don't and I know a lot of people that work in essential jobs that keep this city running. @@scottl4124 I don't see a lot of people venturing out to places like Vegas or Disney even if they were to open. Too much medical and financial uncertainty. It is not exactly a "vacation" atmosphere anywhere you go. I'm a frequent traveler mostly for family and leisure reasons (occasional business) but I am not even thinking about leaving my local area until the medical situation is clarified to some degree. I see a lot of statistics but not a lot of understanding. I’m not frightened - just a realist. Everyone is different and calculates their individual risk taking behavior with different variables. However, this disease is not just about my own risk but about community risk and my part in it. I need to think about how my choices impact everyone else around me. In general, I don't think Americans have a lot of experience with this kind of situational medical reasoning and fail to realize the larger community aspects (just an opinion - nothing factual here). I would need to see robust testing available for all kind of situations, some measure of prophylactic intervention (a vaccine or possibly some other kind of prevention) or if all else fails and I contract the disease, access to swift and effective treatment.

Depends on what card games you are playing. In Blackjack, the players cards are already turned facing up and in poker cards are usually facing down. The plexiglass wouldn't change anything.

Agreed! Early days, they relied on gambling, shows, etc. Early 2000's nightclubs and pools, gambling. Now it seems like all celebrity restaurants and expensive nightclubs. Gone are the days where you chose a hotel for their amenities/pool, etc. Now people can go to any pool they want for a cover charge. Casinos are not making money off gambling anymore, moreso off rent from the restaurants owned by celebs, nightclubs by entertainment companies, etc. The resorts own basically the property and gaming license in hopes these other things will bring people in to gamble, but sadly it hasn't worked that way in years and you're right, they need a better plan.

@@hockeyheather3321 well they started making it ridiculously expensive with these bullshit resort fee aka surcharges and took away the single deck blackjack, made the odds even worse, and it's hard finding a $10 table on the strip sometimes at night. I miss the $5 tables.

When you have one city and industry that is wholly dependent upon individuals discretionary income and desire for fun, in a terrible recession which we are experiencing, this city will take years to recover. A year and a half? More like 5 to 10 years. The job losses that the rest of the country suffered will take that long to recover.

I went Vegas from May 8-10 at an Airbnb (we booked the Airbnb back in January) and we didn’t cancel we just decided to enjoy the house and party at the house (we were a group of 5) , and Vegas had a good amount of traffic and activity in the neighborhoods but the strip was completely dead, outside the strip, Vegas is a normal looking metropolitan area only exception with gambling machines in gas stations, but yeah we were careful and didn’t go out the house too much

The rest of Las Vegas needs help. Always had low jobs and too much crime all around where the action is. We walked from one end to the other, I found myself passing out my money to the homeless rather than buying souvenirs. But one did make me a pretty flower out of palm tree leaves.

@@gambler447 ...yes because NYC does not use ridiculous amounts of neon? Honestly, I really don't think Neon is even used anymore. More like painted tubes for LED lights.
