Excellent instructional bucket video!!! Wish I had seen it a long time ago. First thing I should have done was to cut off the handles! Mine still rattle when I play, taped 'em up to quiet 'em down....for pro gigs, microphone wrapped in to a towel and placed vertically underneath inside bucket, direct to PA system. My favorite instrument in the laundry room.

Mr. Harr should have spent more time on power tool safety, I kept waiting for a finger to get drilled into or sawn off. I like the bass, and am glad you made it without a trip to the E.R.

This is the scariest 'how to' I've ever seen. A good one nevertheless!

You're still rattling bc of the metal I bolt running into the metal washtub... It's best to drill a hole in the tub, pull your rope thru, tie a big knot, and then firmly wrap the knot with electrical tape, several times around to increase the size of the knot. Then pull it tight, and run the other end thru your broom stick as seen here. Also if you foresee that you may be playing from higher to lower "tunings"... Use a table saw to cut very shallow rings into the top of the stick, so you can wrap the rope tighter and not have to hold on, or worry about it slipping, it as much. It's also a good idea for new builds, to find and mark your basic chords with electrical tape or even colored tape. Once you learn your instrument, that can be removed if you want.

Also, down here in the southern states, folks that play tub basses have that twine dipped in some kind of wax. I'm not sure what it is but it helps for volume
