I lost my cat yesterday. We were together for a year since she was a kitten. She was a rescue, badly injured and infected. I nursed her back to health. Within two months she was walking, running, jumping, fighting with my other cat. Through many sleepless nights I kept her alive and through many suicidal ones she kept me alive. She was and will always be my heart and soul. Today when I listened to this song again I felt like someone had put in words how I feel about her. I know she is among the angels today. And I know one day I would see her again in the next world. But today I will cry to sleep listening to this. Thank you for this beautiful, beautiful track. ❤

this video feels like when you’ve lost someone you love (you can pretty much see each of the five stages of grief at different points in the film) and that someone becomes one of your angels. When they’re gone, you begin looking for them, for pieces of them, pieces of their memory, wherever you can find it. It’s like you need to hold onto their memory as hard as you can because you fear it will slip away. But when you really stop and listen, you realize that the person you lost could never really be gone, for they were there with you all along.

Someone already said it, but the MV made a lot of sense when I realized Will is searching for Olivia who passed. Throughout the MV, he keeps searching but can't see her, while she can only watch him. When she watches from above at the part "When I called on the angels / Could’ve sworn that I heard you cry" is like her, as an angel, watching over him. Now that I see it, the scene when he kneels down in front of the tree and she reaches out and comforts him is so heartbreaking. I've been playing this song and the MV on repeat now. The instrumentation, development, melody, and the MV are all excellent. Also Will wearing all black represents mourning, while Olivia's red scarf represents the light she was when she was alive, or the light of his life. The slo-mo sequences at the end when Will gets increasingly desperate to find Olivia shows her also getting desperate to let him know she is there. It is hinted he can sense her presence but as soon as he feels like he can see her, he loses her, making him increasingly desperate. Made me cry.
