Waqar was a spent force then. He was incomparable as a wicket taker from 1990 to 1994 and then began losing it in 95, 96 and 97. After that he was a shadow of his former self. Remember the 90-94 period I m talking about, his strike rate stats during that time stands out against everyone.. even today after all those relatively unproductive years for him from 98-2003, his strike rate still is amongst the top 3 of all time

Jayasurya average is poor compared to the other top 10 batsman. 19 ducks with 75 under 10 scores in 2002. Of course, he being an opener means he has to face the most dangerous bowlers, top bowlers from all teams targeted him and took him down quickly knowing how dangerous he is. Also, his batting style is aggressive which mean more prone to getting out quickly.

Whole Sri team got out within 17 overs. That too on Sharjah pitch. Just look at the depth of this Sri team. No wonder from 2002 till 2014 Sri made it to the SF/F of almost every ICC limited overs event. ODI & T20 WC both. It took 8 exceptional deliveries from 3 great bowlers to get these men out.
