80's have witnessed many a fantastic singer. But he is not one of them. He is alright, but nothing out of the ordinary. The competition for vocal talent in metal in the 80's was nothing short of astronomical. Plenty of stars with incredible voices have risen, shone and fell in the same decade. Some idolized, some remembered, and some forgotten. It was a time of great skill and genius in this genre of rock music, no question about it. Yet the iconic places in the pantheon of truly astounding vocal gift in metal - are all taken by other people.

I'm mesmerized by Blackie's voice. When you hear him talk, it doesn't seem like he'd have that singing voice. He's got an awesome voice, very unique.
@themechaniacal1558 Жыл бұрын
It truly is interesting that he does things with his vocal folds that have very little to do with how he talks. It's a skill more prominent in genres like death metal and grindcore. Yet I'd prefer to listen to what Blackie does because he's understandable (with exception to Lamb of God, who are quite understandable.
