that looks clean compared to the tubing I have seen in power plant boilers building scaffolding its crazy what a clinker forming does to the tubing

Yes, waste heat boilers are quite a bit cleaner than direct fired with coal. Non-consumable debris in the feed stream can make huge clinkers and wear the OD of the tubes considerably. Mr Eric.
