Just take this with a grain of salt everybody. Don’t let it keep you from getting an awesome gun. Definitely don’t let this convince you to settle on what you can get right now. Just make sure it runs fine before betting your life on it. And make sure it fits your needs. Unfortunately there will always be QC problems with anything. Even with the most reputable names. Don’t just give up either. If you purchase something expensive and it isn’t up to par. Send it in and demand the wrongs be remedied.

It just so happens to be that there is no modern-day pistol that will be better than that Ruger. I can tell you this, without flinching. The p95 series of that run is an absolute laser gun. Check this s*** out Bros, my brother was hit by a train in 2013. Since then any concussive sound pressure near him could take him to his knees. We have been working slowly starting with 22 rounds and a crossbow to see if we can get him to be able to handle recoil again. I was more worried about the concussive force but now I have him at the range shooting off an AR-15. It still hurts him but he loves it so much now. But my Ruger p95 mitigates almost all of the recoil and allows him to be able to pop off three and four magazines before he decides that he needs to take a small break.

I know some people have had bad experiences with Taurus, but I also have read many many posts regarding unfixable Smith and Wesson's that wouldn't shoot properly out of the box, and even the factory couldn't get them to shoot right. Sorry to hear you had such trouble. I have owned many Sigs in various models and calibers. Every one a tack driver with no malfunctions. My 13 year old P220ST .45 cal shoots holes through holes. Any manufacturer can unfortunately have an oops product make it out. I had to fix the feed ramp in an Armalite AR15 after someone in the manufacturing process didn't do his job correctly. Numerous rifles sent out flawed. ( He was fired per the head gunsmith at Armalite.) Good luck with your new gun.

It's called 'height over bore" -- and every firearm has that issue, depending on what range you are shooting at-- and what the gun is sighted in for. Sig has different sets of sights at different heights ( I think they are even color coded). And that sets your zero at a different distance. Some people like to have their zero at 10 yards. Some people zero it at 25, 50 or even 100 yards. If it's zeroed for 50 yards, and you're only shooting it at 7 or 10 yards away, then YES it will be landing several inches HIGH.. Just like if you take an AR that is zeroed at 100 yards and shoot it at 7 yards, your shots will land several inches LOW- because your sight's "height over bore". Most companies don't offer different zero's- sights on pistols; so you won't normally have this issue. But SIG does offer them, so you just have to know what is actually installed. Even with Glocks, you can get into different height sights/ suppressor height sights, lower 1/3 co-witness sights, etc. but they all typically have the same zero for the most part (which is typically 33 yards as a standard on most pistols I believe).... The point is, IT'S A FEATURE. Your Sig is zeroed to hit the targe at much farther range, and you have an "under hold" when up close. Look up videos about Sigs sights and you'll find plenty of videos on the subject.

I’ve worked for two different Leo agencies that got rid of their Sigs.

Those old Ruger P series guns are more accurate than most people think. I removed the rear sight on mine and replaced it with a EGW red dot mount and holosun red dot. Now it's my most accurate range toy handgun at 25+ yards and I have several other handguns from glock, sig, s&w and shadow systems.

Sig has this very great warranty program with pretty good customer service and I’d send it back and have them fix it immediately.

Ive had that Ruger, and the tolerances are disgustingly bad. Like...."hotdog down a hallway" bad. Have a gunsmith look at the Sig, because they are awesome firearms.

One thing about Sig in my opinion is that they don’t have very good quality control systems in place. That’s sad people pay that much and can’t even shoot straight out of the box.

So, basically bragging rights for owning an expensive gun, when a more affordable model is much better (and no bragging rights).

Friendly comment-I’ve always found that Sigs shoot high for me-but when I take a 6 o’clock hold the guns shoot a lot better for me.
