Well Steve Harris had a lot of musical input. This album is more Adrian Smith but usually Harris writes the songs, so he probably doesn't write himself boring bass lines.

Appreciated how they got the volume correct on the bass parts, every time I hear someone cover this song, you can barely make out the bass. The attention to detail that the geeks put into every song they cover is what sets them apart from the rest. One of my favorite groups of musicians .

Almost all good Maiden covers have female singers. Bruce's reigster is just too damn high. Half the time he's past tenor into the soprano register on the high notes. From a technical standpoint peobably one of the most impressive singers outside of opera. And those guys can't sing Maiden either. Try asking them to sing past the high C. They'll probably smirk and say that's not possible.

To be fair, they are all professional musicians, whether studio artists or in a band. I mean, Ritchie kinda is in Blue Öyster Cult. Band Geeks are currently touring with legendary former Yes singer Jon Anderson right now, icydk! They also released an album together that sounds very reminiscent of older Yes, so Band Geeks aren't just doing covers any more.

This absolutely made me smile. Takes me back to 9th grade, the year this album came out and the year I started playing guitar seriously. I can still smell that Somewhere in Time cassette tape -- it had a sweet scent for some reason. This was one of the first songs I learned on guitar. OUTSTANDING!!!!! This is one of my favorite songs by Iron Maiden and know it inside and out, and the attention to detail you guys gave it was phenominal. Steve Harris is a hard bassist to follow and Richie did him justice. The solo was perfect, and the Anne Marie was dead on, too. Was hard to imagine a woman singing Maiden, but once I heard, all fears were gone. NO, I didn't forget the drums, Nicko is also hard to imitate sometimes, but drums were on point, too. I think out of any band I have seen in concert, Maiden has to be the one I have seen the most.

When something is this consistently amazing, none of the superlatives seem fitting. Just stunning performances that show how many incredibly talented musicians are out there who are not stars . . . but should be. Listen to a recent live performance of Maiden doing it now. There's no comparison. This performance by TBG, which is live, even gives the original a very tough run for its money. It's faster and the musicians are better. I get that using a woman to sing lead could be seen as "cheating," but listen to both and tell me which one is better executed.
