I adore this game. Probably the most fun I’ve had in an rpg since New Vegas. I wouldn’t say it falls apart in the last act, but it definitely feels a bit rushed. Sadly, it’s clear there was a lot cut from the game, but hopefully a lot of it gets added in through dlc or a director’s cut.

This is the next game after BG3 in my backlog. I played a bit on release and loved it, but like all of these kinds of games, I bounced off of it at a certain point. BG3 did for me what elden ring did. It smoothed the experience out enough for me to finally "get it." Always loved what crpgs had to offer in role-playing and choice. Just never could grasp the tactical aspects. I get it now.

@@smokingbarrels7019 Well, yes that is actually very true. Fallout is Tim Cain's IP. I guess I should have been a little more precise in my meaning when I said "creator". It was Brian Fargo who was responsible for making Fallout a reality through the studio he was in charge of at the time. I didn't mean any disrespect to Tim Cain. The man "created" a most awesome and beloved universe for many people to experience. I mentioned Brian Fargo in relation to the name of the NPC in said Wasteland game, which was one of his creations and drew inspiration from to create Fallout.

@@tonynittoli4792 I've never played Pathfinder. Wanted to buy it but everyone says it's a buggy mess. I played Pillars 2 on turn based mode. Simply excellent, though it too is very buggy. Invest your time.

@@ryandavid1277 I didn't have any bugs with boss fights and quests that I remember. PC version that is. Or at least nothing that couldn't be solved with a reload. Played it when it first came out in real time with pause, and recently in turn based mode. I will say turn base mode is far superior, unfortunately you can't switch back and forth. And turn based mode may be a little too slow for easy fights. But for harder fights, it's a blessing. I love that spell casting is more versatile than Pillars 1 and Infinity games, you can cast spells without having to rest all the time. Downside is I find the story lackluster, though the factions were pretty good. I don't know why they chose to focus so much on gods. Maybe they think that's what people liked about Baldur's Gate 2, but for me that was the least interesting thing about BG2. Every interaction with the gods was the worst part of the game for me. But the world itself is pretty cool.

@@tonynittoli4792 Divinity is a lot different, way more action oriented (and it has a better combat, if you're mostly into it). I'd say way more Pathfinder feel, though i think Pillars has that very oldschool late 90's/early 00's cRPG feel. It feels... classic and nostalgic. It has a lot of reading, too. Also, i disliked Divinity's light-hearted atmosphere and humor, it doesn't fit my vision of a fantasy world game.

Been fun so far, the only issue the game has is that it never feels like you have a squad of people your playing with as much as you've amassed a blob of stats that either can or can't solve problems because of the number by their skill. A lot of the game outside of fights just feels like running point to point, with each point going, "Here's choices, and then here's the best choice hidden behind 'Skill name: Number'." and either the game auto-selecting the part of your blob that has the number, or nothing happening.

The combat in this is highly reminiscent of XCOM, with the main differences being the AP system and having to manage ammo(which is easy so long as you diversify your weapon loadout and ammo type usage). So long as you get the drop on enemies with your sniper you'll generally have upper hand in combat as that lets your whole team go first as part of a pseudo ambush.

I don't mind the frontloading so much. I felt there were enough interesting things in the 2nd half like the Gippers to make things interesting. Though maybe you could argue Gippers is first half, but it's around the 50 to 60% mark I think. Lately I'm beginning to get annoyed with games that are too long, and I often don't finish. So the length of the game was perfect for me just about (though I would have been okay with Aspen being more developed- that was a little short). Wasteland 2 might have been a little too long, though I did finish that game twice. W3 I feel is the better game, though I did like some of the callbacks of W2 like the rail nomads (I actually played the original game in the 80's, though never got past Las Vegas, I was pretty young and that game was hard).

I agree that the highest difficulty is not difficult, but it is amusing to do create pretty shtty teams, perhaps even more "realistic" teams without min-maxing stats. That said, the first part of the game can be annoying with min-min builds. That said, even when playing to win most battles forces you to use your brain. Not many battles work well by rushing, so compared to many titles its rare that you feel completely overleveled (except Denver if you do everything else first).

I did enjoy this game but I think the buggy console launch prevented me from finishing it. The game crashed dozens of times (not exaggerating, on Xbox Series X) and while I thought the game was good, I only have so much patience for a game. If it wasn't good the crashes would have turned me off way earlier. Now I'm on to Wrath of the Righteous, so I don't know when I'll get a chance to come back to this game

This is the first CRPG game that I've played. I was really enjoying it.. the hours just disappeared while playing lol. That is until I got the Steeltown.. I lost all motivation to keep playing here. I felt myself just getting bored on that section. To make matters worse the game crashed on me in 2 different battles while doing non-lethal forcing me to start the battle all over again. It just happened a third time and I just chose to delete it. It sucks cause I was really loving the game.

I loved this game. I like that its full of moral gray areas. Obviously the developers wanted to steer you in the "down with the patriarchy" direction, but i'm glad it wasn't forced down your throat. I opted to arrest the patriarch's kids and peacefully work with him, to maintain the stability of the region, and get the needed supplies to Arizona.

I just finished this game today and man it’s been a blast! The final battle feels like something was missing and it felt a little easy? This game is criminally underrated and I put it up there with DOS2 and Witcher 3 , there are various outcomes to certain factions that you allied with and it affects the consequences of the world itself and it affects final ending too

22:00 MAJOR SPOILERS: Well, you can't formally join a gang. You can, however, with Cordite as companion, choose to bring the gangs to destroy Colorado Springs for the final battle. It will piss off everyone at HQ, and the only companions okay with decision are Fishlips, Cordite, Scotchmo, and Vic. Everybody else would leave. You then can have the option of choosing to go East with Ironclad or do so by yourselves as an ending. (possible DLC... imo)

Good game, but highly repetitive combat. Combat experience peaks I think during the Bizzare mission where you clear the Payasos. Pretty challenging I'll give them that. After that, however, it would appear that combats are too homogenic. Low on AP vs robots? Hack 'em. Don't want to waste time on a few toads? Tame the beast. After learning that your tank is better used as a rammer than as a tank that fires shots, you should have no problem with encounters in the wild.

One thing I noted in the story section. (Spoilers for the franchise ahead.) The nuclear war wasn't an accident. It was a Terminator future scenario. A US defense computer became self-aware, and decided that humanity represented a threat to it. The space station you mentioned was an automated defense station controlled by the AI. It altered the data it was sending the US to include a false distress signal so the US government thought a meteor shower was actually a Soviet nuclear missile barrage. This led to the US launching nukes at its enemies, and they retaliated but the space station was destroyed and the AI's main base was severely damaged preventing it from launching any attacks against the surviving humans until the era of Wasteland 1 where defeating the AI is the original game's final objective.

Wonderful game, indeed....but not as good as Wasteland 2. W2 has the better story, the better maps & quests (Canoyon of the Titan!!) and because of the lower budget it looks more realistic. I thought that the fights in W3 have too much details, bars, colors, etc. When you fight too many enemies it becomes confusing due to too much information on the screen. But as I said, I love both games, W2 just feels a little bit more realistic - especially in the first part until they fly to L.A.

Funny how inexile had a joke in wasteland 2 that they would never do dlc and yet for 3 almost straight away.🙄Loved wasteland 2. This is not a deserving sequel. It’s not a bad game but the fights lack the tactical aspect of 2. Plus the humour is just…gone..the storyline is simpler, although I guess the muddier morality is meant to add depth.I finished this in very little time. ☹️

I keep almost buying this, but whenever I look up some footage of the game to get an impression of what it might generally be like to play, the comedic writing turns me off of the idea completely. I just do not share this game's sense of humor and find it super obnoxious. Is the overall tone as consistently comedy-oriented as most previews make it appear?

Y'know, I was maybe gonna buy this game today, so I revisited this review and read many, many reviews on GoG. I decided not to buy it at this time. I'm a HUGE fan of turn based, XCom styled combat. XCom 2 War of the Chosen does it so very well that it's what I use as the gold standard. The whole 'My team go/Your team go' method of combat, with initiative and fast (or boosted) characters making no impact turns me off badly. The DLC is out (will watch that next), so maybe the glitches have been fixed by now, BUT... I have a feeling the popularity of this game will result in at least one or two more DLC's (wait...is there a season pass? Oy Vey! So deffo more DLC's), and I'd rather let this game marinate for a year or more, let this seemingly 'mostly finished, obviously rushed, definite content cut' game bulk up with the DLC's and much needed patches. Sigh...It's time for me to see if there's a walk thru for Divinity 2 here on this channel. I'm stuck in the intro, and the game hasn't 'grabbed me' at all. I don't like having my party forced on me in like, the intro. I wasn't happy with my choices, even. The only one I wanted was the female elf, and I had to kill her right after finding her on the island! Big sigh. It's supposed to be such a great game and I WANT to like it...I really do...but I've wasted like 10 hours starting Divinity 2 twice and failing to get far without giving up in frustration both times. I just can't get thru the introduction, it seems like!

I have a story series for Original sin 2, Divinity 2 is actually a separate game that I also have a story series for. That said the only issues I personally encounter for Wasteland 3 are super minor, it's multiplayer that has most of the problems

@@MortismalGaming oh I meant Divinity: Original Sin 2. I've already found your 'how to get off the island' video and I'm a snack away from sitting down to watch it and open up the game to try again. Sorry for the mistake. I had no idea there were other Divinity games. I had about 30 hours in Divinity: Original Sin for the PS4, but my console was destroyed escaping an ex, and then the pandemic hit... I just purchased my first new PC in like a decade. A Lenovo Series 5 Legion laptop, so I'm returning to PC gaming. Divinity: Original Sin 2 is one of the first 3 games I purchased - Underrail w/the expansion and Fallout New Vegas were the other 2. Underrail is just punishing with the difficulty. Granted, in real life I probably wouldn't survive a shootout in a sewer with little to no cover against 3 bad guys. I...don't need my RPG's to emulate RL so thoroughly... Fallout New Vegas seems so empty compared to 3 and 4. I can't even go inside so many places. I dunno...not really feeling it yet. I really, really wanna like D:OS2. The way you can interact with the environment during combat is just amazing and feels revolutionary in the RPG genre; having a character light a bomb and another character teleport it into the midst of the enemy...Levitate heavy things and drop them on baddies... That whole thing? I LOVE that. But I get all weird and MUST finish every side quest in an area before moving on, and I'm already stymied on Prison Isle. If I can just relax my stupidity and get off the dumb island, hopefully the game opens up and I can start enjoying the hundreds of hours of cool stuff the game allegedly contains. I'm happy just wandering around exploring endlessly in most RPG's. The stupid flaming frog things in the cave murdered me...the alligators murdered me...I can't find the stolen oranges... Just get me off the island and I expect I'll be thrilled. I did pay full price for the game. I will get my moneys worth, gosh darnit!

The meteor part is Wrong, In wasteland 2 you find out what actually happens. So for those interesting click the read more. for those who don't wish for spoils, play the game (Wasteland 2) Spoilers, you've been warned So the Cochise (however you spell it) AI started to become more conscious, learning and watching. Realizing that it would, at some point, be taking down and basically "killed". Also realizing that Humanity is flawed and it would never stop fighting, no matter how hard it tried. So the AI decided to strike first, Faking the meteor part and launching the missiles, nuking the world to oblivion. Th problem was it didn't kill everyone. So in the first game it tries to finish the Job by creating robots, and killing every Human it finds. Of course it fails and humanity lives. But in the second game (to make a long story short) it uses a guy to get back into power, taking control of the new Ranger Citadel and taking over people (with robotics) and machines, toting how it'll finish the job. You decide to nuke the base killing everything inside
