Great first video think I'll be spending a lot of time watching stuff on here as I love all the gameranx stuff. Couple ideas for more content: - The weird and wonderful inventions of VR - What we want to see from future super hero movies - Could you develop and build your own mobile phone with its own applications - Everyday items that need an RGB makeover Not sure about everyone else but these are the sorts of things that bored-me would want to waste time on ;)

Noot Twenty years ago a young boy named falcon loved video games. he loved video games so much that he scammed an old man for money to buy an SNES. But that old man was a wizard and decided to punish him. He turned the young boy into an eagle, just to spite him further. His love for video games was too strong and he willed himself to learn how to play with wings. He wanted to join a professional e-sports team. After years of struggle he joined faze clan. But he had to dye his feathers to look like a falcon. They found out and kicked him out. then he joined gameranx the end

contact your nearest local internet exchange buy bandwidth from them lay a fibre cable.. get company like motorola to make dsl/fibre modems for you have a shitload of infrastructure like radius servers core switches load balancers etc etc etc etc in short .. have more than 250 million dollar ready to spend and then u can start a small company or: resell a 1 gbit connection via whisp... witch is only handy is places where current service sucks oh and yeah.. before i forget... u need teams of people who can maintain all that hardware and software ;)
@unclearam20554 жыл бұрын
Honestly being in the industry. If your in an area where there is any competition or any main providers don't even both. They will end up charging you so much for access it will bankrupt you. And if you do lay fiber and have to sell it. Most main providers will not even look at it cause they know they can get it cheaper when the bank owns it

Currently I own such a network, its based on another company's infrastructure, but yeah, I had to configure my equipment dedicated servers/switches/routers and such. Here in Romania this costs around 150 dollars just for the deal with the provider + the cost for your equipment. All in all its ok, I've rented my own 256 ip address pool( where my bandwidth permits I can branch out to local ip addresses, so I can provide the service to as many clients as posible ), from which only 253 are accessible of course, the other two are just for the network, to make it function, route traffic and so on and so forth. Parts of the pool is used for online hosting services too :) .

phys.org/news/2013-06-storage-terabytes-dvd.html 1,000 terabytes storage capacity DVD More data storage? Here's how to fit 1,000 terabytes on a DVD June 20, 2013 by Min Gu, Yaoyu Cao & Zongsong Gan, The Conversation More data storage? Here’s how to fit 1,000 terabytes on a DVD Using nanotechnology, researchers have developed a technique to increase the data storage capacity of a DVD from a measly 4.7GB to 1,000TB. Credit: Nature Communications We live in a world where digital information is exploding. Some 90% of the world's data was generated in the past two years. The obvious question is: how can we store it all? In Nature Communications today, we, along with Richard Evans from CSIRO, show how we developed a new technique to enable the data capacity of a single DVD to increase from 4.7 gigabytes up to one petabyte (1,000 terabytes). This is equivalent of 10.6 years of compressed high-definition video or 50,000 full high-definition movies. So how did we manage to achieve such a huge boost in data storage? First, we need to understand how data is stored on optical discs such as CDs and DVDs. The basics of digital storage Although optical discs are used to carry software, films, games, and private data, and have great advantages over other recording media in terms of cost, longevity and reliability, their low data storage capacity is their major limiting factor. The operation of optical data storage is rather simple. When you burn a CD, for example, the information is transformed to strings of binary digits (0s and 1s, also called bits). Each bit is then laser "burned" into the disc, using a single beam of light, in the form of dots. The storage capacity of optical discs is mainly limited by the physical dimensions of the dots. But as there's a limit to the size of the disc as well as the size of the dots, many current methods of data storage, such as DVDs and Blu-ray discs, continue to have low level storage density. To get around this, we had to look at light's fundamental laws. More data storage? Here’s how to fit 1,000 terabytes on a DVD Credit: Adam Foster, Codefor Circumnavigating Abbe's limit In 1873, German physicist Ernst Abbe published a law that limits the width of light beams. On the basis of this law, the diameter of a spot of light, obtained by focusing a light beam through a lens, cannot be smaller than half its wavelength - around 500 nanometres (500 billionths of a metre) for visible light. And while this law plays a huge role in modern optical microscopy, it also sets up a barrier for any efforts from researchers to produce extremely small dots - in the nanometre region - to use as binary bits. In our study, we showed how to break this fundamental limit by using a two-light-beam method, with different colours, for recording onto discs instead of the conventional single-light-beam method. Both beams must abide by Abbe's law, so they cannot produce smaller dots individually. But we gave the two beams different functions: The first beam (red, in the figure right) has a round shape, and is used to activate the recording. We called it the writing beam The second beam - the purple donut-shape - plays an anti-recording function, inhibiting the function of the writing beam The two beams were then overlapped. As the second beam cancelled out the first in its donut ring, the recording process was tightly confined to the centre of the writing beam. This new technique produces an effective focal spot of nine nanometres - or one ten thousandth the diameter of a human hair. The technique, in practical terms Our work will greatly impact the development of super-compact devices as well as nanoscience and nanotechnology research. The exceptional penetration feature of light beams allow for 3D recording or fabrication, which can dramatically increase the data storage - the number of dots - on a single optical device. The technique is also cost-effective and portable, as only conventional optical and laser elements are used, and allows for the development of optical data storage with long life and low energy consumption, which could be an ideal platform for a Big Data centre. As the rate of information generated worldwide continues to accelerate, the aim of more storage capacity in compact devices will continue. Our breakthrough has put that target within our reach. Explore further: Nano breakthrough boosts data security More information: www.nature.com/ncomms/2013/130 … full/ncomms3061.html Journal reference: Nature Communications Source:: The Conversation Read more at: phys.org/news/2013-06-storage-terabytes-dvd.html#jCp FIGHT THE FCC's ANTI-INTERNET NEUTRALITY AND ANTI-INTERNET FREEDOM Radio Interface Linux of course has full radio modem support (AX.25 its called) so after an earthquake or any catastrophe we can get an internet working again without having to run hundreds of miles of new fiber. Great! Offered by Rob. To quote from the web page by Bruce Perens: But, why use an operating system that only a nerd could love? ... it's the best platform for developing the kinds of software that Radio Amateurs need. I certainly agree, but I disagree with the statement: "it's the best platform for developing the kinds of software that Radio Amateurs need." The two main things going for it are that it's cheap (or free) and there is all sorts of software for it, especially for various aspects of the internet. As far as ham radio goes, everything the article says about Linux is also true for any other software platform for the internet. The key is that ham radio uses virtually the same packet communications protocol as does the internet (ham radio's AX2.5, commercial X2.5, and TCP/IP are virtually the same thing).In other words, I believe that a Windows NT WWW server can be configured to use the AX.25 protocol (and has probably already been so modified and those modifications are available free from ham web sites). The internet is already available over the air and has been for several years. You just have to find it with some web surfing. Offered by Ron. Thank God my computer technicians has created a hardwired external O/S surveillance-scanning through an indirect hardwired optical analog camera video-audio recorder installed in front of a separate duplicate CRT computer monitor from our Soviet Era military surplus so everything that I have accessed through the computer-internet is recorded and copied on microfilm and on "PRINT" by a dot-matrix printer and everything is organized based on a chronological basis and using the DEWEY DECIMAL SYSTEM! And they set up a multi-redundant server system so everything that goes into their servers is split and duplicated and copied and stored in a separate desktop server system. If the fears of throttled internet are patently ‘absurd’ as you have claimed that it is Mr. Lionel then how come cities and municipalities, entire counties and even entire states are now going for PUBLICLY OWNED AND PAID FOR BY AMERICAN TAXPAYERS MUNICIPALITY BROADBAND INTERNET PUBLIC UTILITIES? Noisebridge is working on this project using commodity Wi-Fi equipment that’s been modified to work under amateur radio frequencies. The FCC grants experimenters spectrum space to build high power, long range radio systems. Through this provision, Noisebridge has begun building the HInternet (a combination of “Ham Radio" and “Internet”). As one enthusiast explains, “You can run any application you could run over the Internet, the difference is you don’t need any wires. Everything is done through radio links. In the event of a major disaster, you wouldn’t have to worry about downed lines or earthquake damage to underground equipment - the network would naturally reform itself, routing around failures.” The idea to create the HInternet was triggered by the realization that there was a lot open IP space allocated to amateur radio that was not in use. Aside from the benefits this system could provide in natural disaster, the HInternet is driven by the belief in freedom and open access to the Internet. The United States is debating a bill to create an Internet kill switch, also known as the PCNAA bill. For true redundancy, a non-critical network such as the HInternet is being built to avoid this single point of failure. The HInternet project is looking for volunteers to help them test and build the network. If you’re interested in learning more, they are holding a variety of information sessions this Fall. FIGHT THE FCC's ANTI-INTERNET NEUTRALITY AND ANTI-INTERNET FREEDOM Radio Interface Linux of course has full radio modem support (AX.25 its called) so after an earthquake or any catastrophe we can get an internet working again without having to run hundreds of miles of new fiber. Great! Offered by Rob. To quote from the web page by Bruce Perens: But, why use an operating system that only a nerd could love? ... it's the best platform for developing the kinds of software that Radio Amateurs need. The cost of the network and equipment installed to deliver your internet service is paid back in less than one year. Fewer and fewer inside and outside technicians are needed to maintain the network. The cost is actually less than the old telephone service people of my age grew up with. So please don't buy into the corporate bullshit that they need less regs to expand service. Telecom companies are awash in cash and have no interest in expanding into more rural areas. Jeff's points are right on. Disrupting the web is going to bring hellfire down on the republicans.

Wait- $50,000 that’s it?! WITH construction being the bulk (just do it yourself)? Okay, that’s a lot cheaper than I assumed. So probably, what, under $10k if you do it yourself? I don’t think most people would need a whole mile. lol

This is the straight forward thinking type of way. We have much more to offer these days than one's own perspective. There are possibilities. But you'd have to be hard at work. It's very complicated.

So essentially, we need a good guy/girl that we trust and is rich to make a company that's big enough to fight Comcast and AT&T and others to give us internet and to fight for Internet freedom? I don't think that person exists.
