I can't be the only female who's drooling whenever I see this man. Ain't even just about how he looks. He's different, his attitude, the way he speaks, the way he dress, and I'm sapiosexual so I loooooove his intelligence! 🤤🤤🤤 ok bye now!

I love hearing what songs mean from the creator. Sometimes songs are difficult to figure out the meaning. Now that you have explained the backstory, it reminds me of a song called Born To Be Wild by Damian Marley -- it's kind of the same story but it ends tragically. Thank you for sharing, Masego ♥

So I’m a woman that hopefully qualifies as the type of girl you speak of in Old Age🥰 (minus the sugar momma part🚫) and I just wanna say I am PROUD that your knowledge of music is vast. Your songs evolve the genre of R&B without mutilating or desecrating the genre. Your music allows us old ladies to have something in common with you young ones. I can vibe and not feel out of touch when I listen to your music.

i've always loved your music and absolutely fell head over heels for "navajo" but i had doubts about the lyrics.after reading them over and over,i finally figured out that yes, this is about somebody losing there culture once they go out and see the world. story example:i married a morroccan man.he was straight, didn't drink, was simple and humble. He had morals.Once he got to france,he changed.all the easy sex, easy alcohol and western ways just messed with his head.because he came from a culture that was traditional and respectful of many codes.unfortunately, being western and looking back on it, i probably contributed to him switching. mixed couples can be tough to deal with.because every step you take towards each other, culturally, puts one part of each other's culture on the back burner.it's very complicated.often,it doesn't work out. thank you for the explanation and i'll be keeping "navajo" on repeat knowing i actually went through the same thing and that this song is not racist at all.

I see some people still angry about the use of "Navajo"...art is freedom of speech people, your interpretation is yours, not his. I'm a north african soul, please Masego write a song about me with some jazzy, african & oriental vibe, and name it "Maghreb" or "Berber" or "Amazigh" I will be glad 😄

being black does not mean you can't be offensive towards black ppl... but cool to hear the story. low key wonder if she was navajo or just mixed with other things.... It's the 'all my life wanted me an Indian..." is the problem. you can replace it with any race and would be weird , js

I'll be the first person to say I love Masego's discography and especially this song, I MEAN LOOVE. Lyrically and soundwise its up there but that doesn't mean its not offensive as hell as well. I'm glad Masego himself finally released this explanation but I'm disappointed as hell at how oblivious he is to how offensive this all is. Could you not write about your ex without mentioning her ethnicity every 2 seconds? why is the name of the song her ethnicity and not HER's or some other personal identifying characteristic? Do you not see how this might be perceived as though you are equating the Navajo ethnicity to all these vices she espoused? And why have you always wanted an Indian?Your fetishism is showing. Also can we talk about that term 'indian' which btw is perceived as a slur by some Natives and yes their perceptions take center stage here because they are the marginalized group in this context. Also he does address that we shouldn't tell him what his song means which is right, he is the artiste after all, but he should consider how his offensive lyrics land on his fans. Also being black doesn't excuse any offensive behaviour towards Native Americans so stop with that. Masego thank you for all the poetry you always deliver but as good as this song sounds this ain't it.

Yeah I'm Dine and overall I enjoyed the song froma production and vocal aspect. However, listening to the lyrics and reading them I felt just icky, idk how else to describe it. Like he mentions how there exist this stigma around Dine womxn; yet he perpetutaes them in this very song by implying she's loose in her morals and an addict. Also, like calling us "Indians", really!?!?! In addition to just the overall wording he uses to describe us, it just seems negative; not a vibe tbh
