I'm hoping it doesn't take off- buying one or two 4ks just to have them is fine, and the quality when played on regular blu-ray I think is at least a smidgen better. But if it does take off, that means re-buying every 1080p blu-ray... so yeah, NO ONE support this 4k... oh wait. Sorry. No more, I promise... maybe.

To get the "true" 4K experience you would need to drop anywhere from $4 - $6 thousand for a tv. That doesn't include the player which will cost in the neighborhood of $1,400+. The customer will decide if 4K becomes a "thing" or not. Kind of how VHS won over Beta and Blu ray has edged out DVD.
