Wat Phou - UNESCO World Heritage Site

Wat Phou is a beautiful UNESCO World Heritage Site in southern Laos. Located just near the town of Champasak, it rises grandly up the side of a mountain towards a lingam, a Hindu fertility symbol. The temple dates back to the 11th and 12th centuries, and is a fascinating example of Hindu art and architecture. Let's have a closer look!

Despite being a Westerner, You have rightly identified it as a Hindu Temple.... unlike many other Westerners who would term them as Budhist temple, considering the present demographic pattern of these Nations. Sanatana or Hindu Dharma is yet to be researched and understood fully seeing its astounding contributions to this world even from the Ancient times. Perhaps it's the most haunted (by lesser Civilisations out of jealousy) Religion too coz of it's immensely rich contributions.... Great video brother 👍🥰🥰🥰

Yep, it was built originally by the Khmer. It's not really known when the current buildings were constructed, but it's estimated at some time in the 11th-12th century. Thanks for watching 👍

Thanks for watching! We actually went to Angkor back in 2011, long before we started on the World Heritage Journey. I don't have any video from that trip and my photos aren't so great either 😂 My wife has some good photos of that trip, so I'll eventually go back and put together a video of Angkor, but it's definitely one that I want to properly do justice to. I think we were probably the only people in Siem Reap who didn't visit Angkor!
