given that there is no much documentation of the past events. It is now left archeologist /historians description. But we will never know how it was before and what were the subsequent events that led to the desertion of the place. Clearly both architecture and religion reflects Indian origins. But how it got here and the relationship that existed between India and combodia is much to be explored. This help to improve relationship with combodia.

Our legendary Hindu ancestors marked the greatest empire and one of the largest civilizations on the planet. The religious revolution from Hindu to Buddhis after Jayavaraman VIII marked the downfall and destroyed the greatest civilization in conjunction with the climate change. The battle between the two religious have destroyed the internal power and territories domination weakened the long lasting empire. The stoneblocks remnants scattered all over the Angkor park depicted the battle between the two groups depending on the reigning king's belief. either Hindu or Buddhis. The empire continued to weaken as the new reigning king chosen religion. divided the two groups long lasting until the dominant Buddhis took over in the later century. Cambodia went through many dark histories that people don't understand and continue compare to the fast growing neighboring countries. Khmer rouge have wiped out almost 95 percent of historian, doctors, lawyers, archeologists, and many more. The struggling leaders were corrupted until the present day. Thank you for this documentary.

Buddhism after its intial success in India was pushed out of country. But it had greater success outside India. It explains why it is here. Very likely the king himself converted to Buddhism. Also I see strong architectural connection with south india.

Buddhism is the root of “Hinduism”. Why? Because the invasion of Brahmanism only worships Fire. They built nothing but a simple fire pit. The ancient knowledge that will later be known as “Buddhism” was always and will always exist.

It is not a hindu temple. The word hindu did not exist during those time. This word was first used by Mughals during their rule in India when Brahmins were ministers in mughal empire. Do not associate Combodians with hindu. There is no inscription found in those archeological site which says there were hindu.

Aryans are not inveders, hinduism was present in India before the arrival of Aryans... Aryans wrote down the Vedas which was orally transferred people to people. HINDUISM actually leads to one reality the Om 🕉️ . Param Brahman.

No such thing as “Hinduism”. It was always Buddhism. The ancient knowledge was the same teachings during the so called “Indus Civilization”. A stupa still stands in Mahenjodaro. And no it was not built later because no one lived there after the civilization fell.

Thank You So much @Best Documentary. The Khmers Cambodia did not understand the language. on the walls of Angkor Wat or Nagkorn Wat. It's all Khom Siam language. Even the language imitates Khom. Until now, Khmer Cambodia thought it was them own language. During the Funan period, Khmer Cambodia did not speak this Khom language. Speaks Cham language mixed with languages from northern Indonesia. When they became Khom Siam workers for about 1,000 years, the Khmers Cambodia spoke the Khom language fluently. Until the Khmer Cambodia thought it was their own language If you can fully understand the words "Khom Siam" and "Khmer Cambodia" You will have the wisdom to see everything as it really is. But those who still can't think about it must let it gone. No nation knows more about the Cambodian in this world than the Thai .

@@theherionfather8274 Fake map of the ancient Khmer empire That was what the French wrote during the colonial era to prepare to seize the Siamese kingdom. The author is Mr. George Cœdès. But France was unsuccessful because the 5th Army of Siam asked for help from Russia and many European countries. This fake map of the ancient Khmer empire is still used by the Khmer government as a history curriculum to this day, which is very shameful. The Sok Pham, Taeng Wan, etc., Norodom dynasties of the Khmers that overthrew the Khoms Woraman dynasty. Why are the Khmers not proud? But they shamelessly stole the Woramam Dynasty of the Khoms from Siam as their own. Go study again, Khmer people.

@@theherionfather8274 Were the Khmers captured by the Cham from northern Java? Didn't the Khmers and Cham people once have the great Champa empire in Central Vietnam, South Vietnam, and southern Cambodia? But it was taken by King Jayavaramma VII. The Khoms king Phimai overthrew his power until the end of the Champa period. So both Khmer and Cham became slaves to Khoms Phimai, right? It was brought to build the Bayon Castle Nagkorn Thom. Until after the death of King Jayavaramam VIII, the weak Khoms King was overthrown by the leader of the Khmer slaves, Trok Sok PhaAm. This ended the ancient Khmer dynasty. As for Trok Sok PhaAm Alley, it is the beginning of the Norodom Dynasty that has continued its lineage to this day. Things like this are not taught in Cambodian history courses, right? But on the Thai side, they are taught like this.
