Sometimes I dream what could've been if Valve didn't abandon SFM completely, or would've at least finished S2FM since their attention turned to Source 2 anyways... But alas, here we are lol. What do you think about Blender? I personally really miss the clip editor and Source render engine. Eevee render engine is more demanding than Source render engine.

So far it is like learning to ride the bike again after having spent last 4000h in SFM lmao, but I see Blender's endless potential for sure. Although I've tried getting into it like 4-5 times already, now that I don't need to model my own characters or suffer at porting stuff, this should be a lot easier to just focus on animating. To me Eevee has been a lot easier to handle since Blender can actually use more power from my rig than ol' SFM. The render time for about the same length of animation here was 2x faster with Eevee compared to SFM. I did try Cycles too, which ofc increased render times but the ever persisting visual artifacts threw me off as I just couldn't fix 'em annoyingly, no matter the samples and denoising. Clip editor would be nice to have too

Yeah, I originally was planning to stay with SFM while learning Blender. A year later.. I now want to remake all the WIP in SFM and move it to Blender; that moment I reopned SFM for a while made me say "What am I doing in SFM!? "
