@@YarugumaSou well, the wwf had the panda logo way before that, so people were already invested in saving pandas. But also the ccp thing is complicated because China actually used to gift pandas to other countries a lot as diplomatic gifts. And later they changed it to "leasing" instead of gifting. So they would lease pandas for 1million per year and stuff. I think there were also cases where pandas were exchanged for uranium.
