Al Di Meola doesn't come around our neck of the woods often, so when we got a chance to meet, we were thrilled! Thank you Al for taking your time to check out the ToneWoodAmp

You can tell that Al is wanting quick access to the controls without reaching around back. I get it, it's what guitar players would naturally want. Maybe an extension for an attachable control for the front? Pro's need control. And need it quick.

It works with the existing control system on your electro acoustic. Tone bass treble volume are all set on the guitar. This is more like an effects amp head. Some user editable presets and a pedal or knob with easy access would be nice for fast switching. Like going from clean to plate reverb on the fly. But this isnt for big shows. Its a fun toy for practice or busking with one setting throughout the song. I want.

Dan Gatton - Same here, no acoustic/electric. Here's your options. Buy a TWAmp by itself (A), one unit with a sound hole pickup as a bundle (B) (you can choose ether a pickup for Steel (C) or Nylon (D) depending on what saves you the most money in the long run), or buy the needed pickups individually (E). Each unit only comes with one x-brace (F), so additional ones will be needed as the brace won't damage the axe but the sticky pads would get destroyed if you were try to switch guitars. Plus you'd have to unwind your strings, remove x-brace, retune, rinse and repeat... So... Your solutions are: BC + D + 2F's = Cost savings, need to move both unit and nylon pickup BC + 2D's + 2F's Less headaches, only need to move unit Or the ultimate.. 2BD's + 1BC = Everything for each guitar 🙂 Sorry no one got to you till now...

I got lucky once at Sam ash, and they showcased this little older aging woman yet extremely attractive and talented classical guitarist who met her hero Andres Segovia, and if not mistaken, became a student of his... It was sad... There was me, and acouple of straight laced middle class couples and 4 old people. She blew me away!!!... Classical takes" bukku" discipline .... P. I. M. A... Rest stroke... Free stroke.... I asked good questions old people mocked her. I was living in the filthiest hotel in Raleigh!!... She and her manager just wanted to make acouple 20 dollar sales of her albums... I was broke, I lied and told her I'd come back from a. T. M.....?..I did walk back thru parking lot again and it looked like they were "down n out".. she had interesting stories... That woman could find a decent friendly neighborhood Walmart to perch on, she could "atleast" live a modest life "independent" of anyone... For fringe benefits!!... Win the naysayers over, and she could rekindle her career... "Here's a tip"... If it's a good night of tips... Stash your stash, don't showoff your loot!!... You"lol attract haters and naysayers..." Remember " at the end of the day," your doing it for the greater good"!!!

The Tonewood sounds terrific but in order to play a live gig and be heard, you still have to run a line out of the guitar unless you're in a very small venue. It's really not an amp, it's more of a sound modifier and effects unit. But the concept is really good. It helps an acoustic guitar depthwise and with some nice basic effects which do not sound digital or flat.

It's like an updated digital version of the cool but limited and obtrusive Aspri mechanical spring reverb unit that Al Di Meola himself used to use and advertise back in the 80's. I loved the concept back then, but when I got an Aspri, I found the one reverb sound, (without even a dampened spring dry setting), very limiting. I also hated how it interfered with the tone, volume, and intonation of the strings, as the mechanism would actually contact the strings themselves, as well as the giant brick over the body, and even worse, directly over the bridge, completely getting in the way of your right hand. This new ToneWood Amp seems to have completely taken care of all of these problems. Can't wait to try one out first hand!

To get a serious classical guitar sound, you start with much as possible wood and as little as possible plastic in the sound. The next thing is good balance in bass, mid and treble. Then . . . comes sustain and reverb. Ask a performing classical guitarist with a good tone.

You can definitely tell Al is a lead guitar player. Why? Not just because you can see him playing leads. You can hear the buzzing in his strings.. which means he must have super low action on his guitars just the way most lead guitarists like it.. regular acoustic guitar players have the action set much higher so you can't hear any buzz at all which gives you a louder and Fuller sound..
