It helps that he's not stomping on cages and running over cages in order to stress her out and make her cuss for views. If you stress out there bird it'll cuss and behave in a stressed manner. Love you two! I haven't adopted any turkeys but I've adopted some very large dogs over the years. My rottie, Sheba, my neopolitan mastiff, Mugsy, english mastiff Bronx, shep cross Tater and currently my sweet dane Buck. People think they want a small pony in their homes then reality sets in and they pass them on over and over again. Bucky had 4 different homes before the age of 2. Please folks, before you commit to these big beautiful babies consider their size, drool and energy needs BEFORE you take them into your lives. Good description of cockatoos! We love Pebble. Thanks for sharing and being honest. Sometimes my Umbrella cockatoo yells so much it hurts my ears. Fortunately, she only does it if I am busy doing stuff and she misses my presence. But sometimes she does it in the late afternoon. But once again, these birds are wild animals who yell like this naturally. Being indoors it seems even louder, but that is what they do.

Saw that quick mating attempt. They can be so sneaky. My male was sitting on me and got on my hand rubbing on me before I knew it. Horney devil. Beter that then always after my female his buddy. No eggs dont want anymore babies brought into the world. He still gets to her when I'm not looking. Laid an egg a few wks ago. She usually drops them laying while on her perch and they break. I have 2 Hercules and Princess rescues too. You just gave a perfect example of Cockatoo behavior. It's why they end up in shelters. They are soooooo loud and dusty and yes occasionally bite (bad). But they also are the sweetest cuddliest bird there is. The good with the bad. Adopt dont Shop .

People do not realize that out in the wild a bird will bite it's mate to cause it's mate to move away from a perceived threat or danger to a safer place.This is NATURAL behavior and people who get a bird should learn natural behavior instead of sending the precious bird to yet another ignorant person to be abused just because the bird is acting in a natural way. They are not toys to be rid of just because you do not take the time to learn and accept their natural behavior.They ( all birds and animals used to just get attention online) deserve a loving home and the respect of being loved just because the person really wants them... Working with them makes them more tolerant of us but bottom line is if that Bird or Animal is surprised or scared the best trained may attack or bite.That is part of accepting and loving that animal.Oh yeah....we must remember that Birds are very long lived.Some big birds live 50 - even 80 YEARS.Most People need to plan long term care for their lifetime Pets.Sooo please be considerate and take a long time to learn the Pets requirements considered for Adoption.

I took my female umbrella to the University of Guelph when I first got her , first thing they told me was I had adopted a real problem. Cockatoo’s are “sexually frustrated” they see us as mates and can’t understand why we won’t mate with them. Otherwise, if you can get past that, they’re sooooooo sweet!!! Gotta love ❤️ ‘em.
