Thank you for the update, Insider..!! Sony needs to launch a 'water washable' dust collecting air purifier. I don't think there is an air purifier in the market that can collect the dust as good as the game consoles.

exactly , if u read my comment , we have had 50 yrs of evolving console technology, you would have to be a complete noob to design something as Ipoh as this dust trap. same with red rings of death, who would put a coded row of lights on machines when they die if they weren't aware they were going to die....and always just after your warranty ran out...find me one that happened whilst still in warranty, mine was literally about month after...

bought a 2nd hand slim. cracked it open to replace the cmos batt because the time and date keeps reseting. lo and behold! a buttload of dog hair! everywhere! took it apart and the heat sink was clogged with dust and hair. cleaned it all and now it's good and quiet as new

Jimminey Christmas that's a lotta dust! I don't think I've seen anything from SalemTech that's been that dusty. I had a friend with a PS3 that would revv up like a vacuum cleaner when he played it lol. Lots of smoke, dust... Humidity! Because they were in an unfinished basement. It all makes sense now lol.

Put a cloth over your ps4 or 5. When it is off. When off just wipe your hand over it to take some static electricity out. Then put cloth over. Take off before putting on. Shake cloth out. Side wents you can hoover a bit. Just from outside. My ps4 still work 100 after 8 years. And have a vacume cleaner for your whole house too. Do not let it stand in front of a door. Rather in corner of room next to the door lol.

I know that’s a PS4 but If that was a PS5 that thing would’ve caught fire. PS5s get so hot and easily start overheating even after just three months worth of owning one. With all these high-powered parts in these gaming systems they require a lot more maintenance to maintain them.

I smoke heavy. I spray and clean a lot and don't smoke much when I have them on. But dude. That dust is killer and sticky. My real fans can get dirty quick. So I can only imagine my 4 and 5.

Definitely change the thermal paste and thermal pads. I ended up using Grizzly Kryonaut Extreme paste and good quality pads. My PS4 Pro and Slim are both running damn near silent it's insane.

I have 2 Ps4 Pro's andy little brother had on of the first Ps4's, we cleaned his Ps4 and made a new therman paste on it but becosue of today's game's are big and need more power, some older playstation's dont have the spezifications to run them. So sometimes when your ps4 just shut's down or i loud AND you play always the newest title's you need a new console...
