We have stayed a number of times in Vinhomes Central Park (air bnb), and have never come across the "hostile" environment you refer to. It is true that using facilities can be a challenge as they link access to fingerprints etc but this is usually solved if required by the owner. All these statements about being stared at, or altercations with staff or being treated like crap by staff, I can honestly say I have no idea what you are referring to, if you treat people rudely and you can expect to get the same back otherwise the Vietnamese we have dealt with have been nothing more than polite. Oh and we are a large family of 5. To answer your other question, why Airbnb, it is cheaper when dealing with a large family (we can all stay under one roof), you get full facilities as in kitchen etc, and you can actually spread out as there are multiple rooms, and yes we have used the pools, gym and even table tennis room, and guess what no one staring at us or treating us like crap.

@@DJ-traveller almost speaks volumes to the entitlement of Airbnb renters to the T lol 🤣
@DJ-traveller
@DJ-traveller 13 күн бұрын
@@fatandbrokeWhat exactly does that mean, airbnb renters are entitled because we don't get the abuse that you seem to get? You ask for us to light up the comment section and when someone actually states a real life experience that does not support your claims, what is your response, to somehow claim airbnb renters are entitled, that makes about as much sense as your video. Clearly you are not using airbnb, so your actual experience is based on what you hear rather than real experience in Ho Chi Minh.

When you travel with a family 5 adults 2 kids & it’s often hard to find multiple room hotels. So Airbnb capture that convenience. Having a kitchen, laundry etc facilities with kids is a huge bonus. I have done both myself in Saigon. Our last stay though we booked Somerset Ho Chi Minh City for a 3 bedroom apartment and it was fantastic so much so we will go back again when we have a large group. Just need to find what best suites and be respectful of others if you are in a Airbnb . Happy travels everyone 😊

Where there’s a demand, there’ll be suppliers. The Airbnb rules are like traffic lights in HCMC :-)

As of the 1st January, very few are disobeying traffic lights, the fine is huge now.

The main reason we rent Airbnb is to get apartments with multiple bedrooms and a kitchen. I’ve only done it twice, but I’ve never had any issues. Of course these Airbnb’s were in tourist area of Vung Tau.

Damn if they get rid of Airbnb, hotels will get even more ridiculously expensive. Just on the verge of scrubbing Vietnam off of my regular holiday itinerary here.

I was in HCMC visiting a friend in D2 two weeks ago. He made it seem like staying in Air BnB was no problem. It could be that those "acting like the own the place" and feeling/acted entitled get treated different, but who knows...Would be sad if the gov't does crack down on the rental environment, was looking forward to visiting again next Winter and staying at Landmark.

I think hotels are far better price wise and location wise. Most people aren't even in the hotel most of the day Think the only leg up Airbnb is if you have a large group or have kids. Yeah you can cook to "save" money but if you're in South EA just eat out

Why get an Airbnb in Vietnam? Hotels are so cheap. Hotels are roughly half the price of Thailand. And hotels in Thailand are reasonable.

I almost uprooted my life to life with a Chinese girl who lived in Vancouver. She wanted me to rent apartments and then Airbnb them. In Vancouver s as lol the apartments had notes everywhere that stated no Airbnb. I even stayed at Airbnb that you could tell it was sketchy. The person running the air bnb had you do all kinds of sneaky stuff. It does not feel good to stay at a place that you feel like you could get kicked out of at any time.
