Thanks,. Now I know the Arabic numbers have lumes. I like the classic dressy look, see through back. Can accept non-hacking, non-hand winding older movement. But 30m water resistant is the turn off. At least 50m.

@@NMwatch Better not push your luck. Service charge at Seiko service centre would cost about RM150, almost half or 1/3 of these entry level Seiko 5 prices.

@@jouwenlee7829 I agree. Though in many places servicing costs even more than the watch purchase's cost. It follows that the best course of action that includes caution with water is to use the watch daily or almost daily and avoid turning it in for servicing in the hope this will never be necessary. Many have managed to pull this off for upward of 20 years, even 30 years. This robutstness is one of the things I like about Seiko 5, or at least the line from the last century.

The dial of the SNK381 is the absolute best of any of the OG Seiko 5s (SNK, SNXS, SNKE, SNKK, whatever). And the thicker lugs which are also curved downwards also make it the most wrist form-fitting of the old 5s, as opposed to the flying-saucer designs. I also bet it will look amazing on a leather or silicone strap (for compfortable wearing while sleeping). Surely a NATO strap will look even better on it, but I dislike NATOs like I can't describe. I am getting one of these very soon.

Only thing I don’t like about this watch is the 30m water resistance . How much water do you think 30 m resistance can handle? Is it okay to wear this out in rains ? This is such a good looking watch man !! Superb! I liked the dial and lumed numerals …. If Seiko relaunches this with upgraded movement and water resistance and a sapphire Crystal ….. man this will sell like crazy

Im thinking on buying my first automatic Watch, Im looking at the seiko 5 snk381k but ive done some research and it has the 7S26 movement so Im not sure if i should get it. Im a college student and dont make make many movements on a daily basis other then walking to different classrooms. I really love the look of the Watch but Im concerned that if i buy it ill be a slave of having to wind it daily. What do you recommend i should do?

Well, the Seiko 7S26 is a non hand winding movement. So you won't even have to wind it everyday. Just give it a good Seiko shuffle and wear it everyday. Oh, I've been using my SNK381 for a good few years now. No issues whatsoever. Thanks for watching 😎

If you want something for every situation, definitely the SNK381. You can easily dress it up with a leather strap for the office and dress it down with nato or rubber strap for the weekend. OEM Seiko bracelet is crap though, so get this for under USD100 and be prepared to spend another 100 for straps 😅. Thanks for watching 😎
