Hey Wally, I tried your fried rice 🍚 recipe this morning. I used Jasmine white rice for the dish; along with sausage and diced onions. The dish turned out perfectly.

I have been using too much water in my jasmine rice! Oh my goodness, thank you for all of this information!

My secrets is old deep fryer oil for flavor and the wok hei smoke. I also use Kam Yen Jan chicken and pork sausage, eggs, white onion and fresh steamed rice. My fried rice is more like a bo zai chow fan because I also use dark soy sauce.

You were doing okay until you mentioned fresh steamed rice. Haiyaa

I don't actually I prefer using overnight. Sometimes even 2 days old is okay too I find 😀

Awesome, I do love a good fried rice. Looking at getting a Wok but we have an Induction Stove Top, so I've been using a Cast Iron Skittle.
@WallyCooksEverything2 жыл бұрын
Hey Greg actually cast iron skillet is actually better. If I could find a cast iron wok I would use it to replace my current carbon steel 😃
@rattlecat596810 ай бұрын
@@WallyCooksEverythingThe cast iron brand called *"LODGE"* sells a cast iron wok for about $54 USD. I've always heard that *carbon steel* woks work as well but are lighter to handle. Thoughts?

What about the Los Angeles variation? …..adding in bacon grease 😁

Hi I-also have and Induction Stove Top and a $25.00 Carbon Steel Wok and I cook everything from Thai, Vietnamese, Chinese etc and it works awesome, especially fried rice. I used to use my gas burner but the Induction gives me the way higher heat I need to cook with my Wok. Hope this info helps. Also the best way to see what pots, pans etc you can use on your induction is put a magnet on the bottom of your pot, if it sticks to it the item is induction friendly, if it doesn’t stick the pot won’t work on your stove top of 😉.

Wow, this was not a good idea to watch this video at 2 AM and kind of hungry. This looks exactly like Congee Village fried rice minus the lettuce. Great job! Also lol at the non-paying friends bit 😂

No one eats my fried rice because I only use 1 tsp of oil ☹
@WallyCooksEverything2 жыл бұрын
😀 It's not a big deal bro, just wanted to make a point that food coming out of restaurants usually have more oil than food made at home 👍 That is why the food tastes different.
@mike330i2 жыл бұрын
@@WallyCooksEverything I didn't know how unhealthy restaurant food is until I tried making it at home. I "knew" it was unhealthy but I ignored it because it tastes so good. It's just like we know restaurant kitchen are dirty but I ignore that as well.
@WallyCooksEverything2 жыл бұрын
I know what you mean 😆 A lot of people complain food is greasy but still going back for more. I think you mention you're from Canada, isn't there a restaurant grading? In the US all the restaurants have health inspection grade. I think when that was implemented most try to get as clean as possible for A grade.
