I’m confused, he is a Tongan who lives in Hawaii? Why does he not perform the sipi tau from Tonga? Or the ha’a from Hawaii? Why would he choose to perform the Ka Mate Haka from Aotearoa and so obviously not his native tongue as he mangled the words so badly. This is a haka about a battle between 2 tribes he is not a member of of a culture he is not part of in a land he is not from. Did he just find the All Blacks haka on KZbin and think “looks good I’ll appropriate that”? If he wants to promote and protect his culture so badly introducing Americans to a bad version of someone else’s with wrong pronounced words and fumbled actions doesn’t seem fair to his culture or the maori of Aotearoa.
