To be fair, Buttigeg is right that there's a lot of infrastructure work involved in getting charging stations set up. That being said, he should've talked about the infra projects and their progress so we got a handle on the total % completion of the project. I don't expect that to be high either. Our infra is simply incapable of handling mass EV adoption without wide spread adoption of significant technological adaptation to cope with the massive electrical usage, fire risk, low reliability, and long charge times. $8 billion is a drop in the bucket for the cost of an actually plausible EV plan.

So apparently you don’t know how this works, so God forbid that Trump becomes president, but if he where to become president, the Biden‘s cabinet will all leave, because they don’t have a choice, and that’s the way it works, because anyone accepting what is essentially a political appointment knows that it is only for the limited time that the executive who appointed them is it office. So the only people that stays are those who are asked to stay on by the incoming administration, and I can guarantee you that not only will Trump not ask him to stay on, but if he were to ask Pete to stay on, I think that Pete would decline the offer, given the divisive political partisan divide in this country that Trump has successfully exploited. I should also note, that you didn’t hear what he said, because you chose not to hear what he said, that the money is going to the states, and so why there’s only three or four or however, many chargers that have actually been put in place, I don’t know, but there is something called the Freedom of Information Act, and if you really wanna know the answer, you can file what is known as a FOIA, but either way, that money has to be a accounted for no matter whether or not it has been expended or not, and what is not known is how far along in the appropriation process at the state level where contracts are actually funded they are in this whole process, however, without some government incentive, private business isn’t much interested in building electric charging stations. It should also be noted, that Rome wasn’t built in a day, and I’m sure there are a lot of people, who went into the gas, and oil business at the retail level who regrets their decision when the station fail to make money, and had to file bankruptcy or liquidate the rest of the assets, that they put into these businesses. He does not suffer fools. Keep in mind after dieselgate, Volkswagen (Electrify America) had to pay for many of these and Volkswagen knows EVs aren't the cash-cows ICE car are due to their minimal maintenance. It's a very complicated subject involving burocracy not just federally but also based on the fact that many of America's wealthy own car dealerships that make huge amounts of money on car repairs and can slow permits and put up roadblocks due to their contributions and influence. (Im a lefty and I own a short range EV so these are not Fox-News talking Points).
