Why do we buy in to the "our own people sold us into slavery concept"? It's possible, but the crux is that slavery was a different concept back then. The enslavers took it to another level with chattel slavery and the notion of perpetuity. There was no eacape unless one risked one's life. Further, the Europeans brought their goods as enticements; goods which had a short shelf life. The exchange was uneven as was everything else. There was no excuse for what they did except the idea of commoditizing and capitalizing on the lives of humans with impunity to advance their stealing the world's wealth including land, while causing genocide all in attempt to save themselves. Derrick, right! I was watching The View and Whoopi was talking about the studio and they were showing pictures of Tyler Perry Studios. I didn't realize it was that big!! Full size replica of the White House. He found and bought a 1950's diner and had it moved to the studios. It's big enough to fit several other well known major studios and then have room left. I hope someday once everything is settled in, he gives tours. Love me some Tyler. Very humble and blessed man.
