After sheltering-in-place and missing Thanksgiving, Christmas and New year's Eve celebrations, I was feeling depressed. Not anymore. Now I know that I was afflicted with self-pity. As to the use of the fan, she may have been unfamiliar with the song as she was not raised Baptist but rather Catholic. OMG, I loved this. Spontaneous...In the moment...in the spirit. You could see how the whole room felt the spontaneity of what was delivered. Chaka is an original. She and Aretha were friends, and singing for a dead friend's funeral, in front of your friend's casket, trying to honor your friend and do something to lift people up, while you yourself are grieving, emotional and need lifting, is one of the toughest gigs there is. Aretha would be proud!

Only Chaka can do an encore at a funeral. I love it. One of my favorite singers. Queen of funk had everybody on their feet. Chaka did Going Up To Yonder her way. She still can sing. Her voice hasn't change and she is in her 60's. Chaka Khan is an American treasure. Aretha's family were on their feet.

She had the BEST tribute for the night. Matter of fact, all the legends approaching 70 or in their 70’s has the absolute BEST tributes for the night. It’s not easy to bury a dear friend, and at that age they can still hold their own vocally. Couldn’t have been more proud!

It wasn't a tribute or perfoŕmance .In Gods house you sing for him so that you bring may others to know Christ .The choir made the song, Chaka seemed off , if you were dazzled by her" high notes".Google Tremaine Hawkins to hear the original.I dont care for Jennlfer Hudson she sounded best and carried herself with the correct decorum.
