If disrespecting and stalking women is a part of our society then we can't just say that this is our culture and if this is our culture then we must refuse it and stop glorifying and romanticising stalking...And why on earth is the girl in punjabi songs always demanding clothes, bags and cars from the man, as if the women can't exist or be happy without the man taking care of her. Female bodies and their "patla lak" and the brands they prefer ( they have a special affinity for guuci and prada) are described in detail and women are shown as selfish shallow creatures who always gravitate towards the richest man. Punjabi songs are sexist, misogynistic, violent and they glorify all of these things.

This is a very small concentrated sample of the population that has moved to Chandigarh to attend universities/colleges, this statement includes both men and women looking for greener pastures so they won't have to return to their previous lives. Some have come to terms with the fact that they have to go back so they act out and 'make the most' of being away from familial supervision. They come from small towns and mislabel the liberal atmosphere as 'freedom' because they have never been independent before. The majority of individuals that belong to the city, not transplants, are well-read and don't act like this.

Stalking happens in college environment. But chandigarh college students taking it to next level. I would only request people to do anything they want, but don't do something that make a women feel insecure and a danger towards her, because it's the women who fill our life with colors, as a mother, a sister, a friend, a crush, a girlfriend and as a life-partner, and so it's our responsibility as a society to make them feel safe, respected and happy.

I had lived in Jaipur, and this sort of stalking culture had been quite rampant there in parts, where you'd find men in literally 'flashy cars' driving by morning and evening playing loud music, staring and slowing down their cars passing remarks at random girls on the street, or asking for sexual favours in the name of wanting help. I have personally witnessed such situations or had been told by people I knew. And mind it, none of us were 'provocatively dressed' or 'heavily made up'or wore 'figure hugging attires'.To add to this, Jaipur is considered a safe city when compared to other cities in the north or north-west. I wonder if there really is a definition for a safe city in India.

I mean i literally saw men in their late twenties eve-teasing high school girls. I as a man was very disgusted as i have not experienced things like this in my state. For higher education i went to US there also the guys from Punjab were very weird with girls, it was kind of embarrassing so i quit hanging out with them even though we were from same country. The women harassment that has been glorified in Punjabi pop songs has to go. It is ruining generations.

Ig you're probably talking about cities in underdeveloped low literacy levels states like UP or something like this where women aren't safe & not even allowed to wear their choice of clothes but in context to my comment here its proven genders live upon the attention Of the opposites & its how we all men/women are psychologically biologically programmed in the prefrontal cortex of our brains. Even i strongly want that guys should go straight up to the girl they like find cute whatever & figure it out actually you know all our boys in the society are raised wrong yo as if women are some taboo or infact these boys rather got no bad intentions so shy & afraid of women lol unlike western part of the world I've been living in 6 toranto & we punjabi & western are far different culturally.. so its more of easy to get away shortcut for the straight approach to the local guys here in the city. Life of mostly young guys in chandigarh - come to chandigarh from haryana and Punjab (mostly from college students of local chandigarh or panchkula, ambala haryana or Punjab mohali, patiala etc) - just enjoyment, never going to college or bunking classes for fun - after completing 3 year of college (either full pass or backlog in whole 3 year) if you have rich background than you can set a business by family backup or if you either rich or 12th pass, just prepare for IELTS and go to canada, Australia And this is not just random thing i wrote My some friends who goes to chandigarh for graduation or post graduation used to told me this and now they himself settled abroad
