Technology cannot be transferred if you cannot see it, feel it, touch it and be part of it. President Tinubu must understand that Mega projects like this Lagos to Calabar highway (and others in Nigeria) is one of the the ways many countries of the world use to reduce unemployment in their societies. Mr Tinubu, it is your duty to let these companies understand that they have to employ Nigerians graduates in their areas of specialities and pay them livable wages. It is insane to say that Nigerians graduates knows nothing. Any University or Polythenic or other institutions anywhere in our planet will teach you the basics of your speciality, it is your clinical or fields work that will define you. Example, it is impossible for a Civil Engineer to build a bridge or road after graduation without working in a construction company that engages in such services. It is the duty of those companies involved to re-train those graduates to their standards.

You are right and I agree with you. But this project actually already provide immediate jobs for many Nigerians. Hitech construction company who was awarded the project has been in Nigeria for decades and hired thousands of Nigeria both directly and indirectly and I have a cousin who currently works for them. In addition to that, they partner a lot with Dangote cements and in fact they are one of the largest consumer of Dangote cements and we all know that Dangote is the single largest employer of labours in Nigeria. So technically they are already doing what you mentioned. Should there be more? maybe. But to be fair, lots of skilled Nigerians are working for them already which I believe as a company, it is even more economical for them to hire Nigerians than brining expatriates from their country. construction labour can be costly and I am sure they know this. My cousin who works for them is a civil engineer and has been with them for going to 10 years now. And was even sent to Kenya for like 3years to go lead a project by the same company. We just might not know.
