This was definitely the game that made me love this series again, I liked Watchdogs 1 but pt2 definitely had better mechanics(great gameplay loop), better melee and weapon options, and the scope of hacking in this game was miles ahead of the first game. It sucks that this was followed up by Legion. Watchdogs 3 should’ve definitely continued Marcus’ story and him being a prominent memeber of Deadsec leading the charge to free various cities under big brother control, hell the follow up could’ve been done years in the future with the same setting of Legion and you as a new player fighting against big brother as a new recruit under Marcus’ Deadsec team.

Pulling up the apartment building my grandma used to live on Potrero Hill made me tear up, even thought it looks nothing like it in real life but the fact they did the street alley way and everything. This game has its flaw but i have a soft spot for it.

I platinumed Watch_dogs 2 4 months ago, and I cant believe I platinumed a game I got for $10 at a cash converters with some pocket money I got from mowing lawns. This is my favourite game of all time, and I will never forget the memories had in san Francisco.

I love the vibe of this game but it does have one major disconnect between story and gameplay tones. In the story you're a hacktivist rebelling against the system and getting the public to help. In the Gameplay you can be a total murderous psychopath with only the missions against gangs potentially justifying these actions. Watch Dogs 1 isn't perfect but the tone of Aiden Pearce works well with the gameplay. Walking into a location ready to kill half of Chicago's criminals fits his mindset and mannerisms. Watch Dogs 2 probably should have doubled down on non-lethal weapons options like what Legion eventually did. Having a transition of Marcus coming to terms with having to kill some enemies would probably lessen the disconnect.

I remember the mission itself from 2016 but don’t recall what game was teased and that’s because we got nothing on it, I probably just remember it being the next assassins creed or something. From what I’ve heard the game has been going through development hell and has pretty much come to a stop. Read a couple of reports it was being cancelled but then also seen a few saying that it was being rebooted into a multiplayer shooter. Who knows 🤷🏼‍♂️ Thank you man! You should definitely try and do the series. Legion is relatively easy with only a few trophies really giving me any issues. Most of those were usually to do with hiring someone like a game designer as well as a couple of others. I haven’t played the dlc but plan on doing so Watch Dogs 2, absolutely phenomenal in my opinion, I personally can’t fault the game at all as I thoroughly enjoyed myself and can’t think of a time when I didn’t. Multiplayer is still quite active so nows the best time to get it done. I’m currently going through the DLC now and so far having a good time and I’ll probably make a video out of it although of course there won’t be any platinum in that one, just the rest of the trophies. Watch Dogs 1, I couldn’t tell you whether or not the platinum is hard as all I did was complete the main story but have heard the multiplayer is pretty much dead at this point and apparently the server is known to go down for sometimes days at a time before coming back up. Whether that’s true or not I don’t know

I agree,being able to recruit your own people is a cool idea but it makes the characters quite flat, where 2 you had a small circle of characters legion you can chop and change your character every 5 minutes makes the whole experience a bit off, I found a character that was bare able and just kept them the whole game and didn’t change

Personally, I think watchdogs 2 has the best open world sand box gameplay in terms of how reactive the world is. Gta V dwarfs in comparison with simply the variety of npc interaction between each other, to the player AND how they react to the game systems. San Francisco genuinely feels lived in with my only criticism being there's not enough npc's and cars on the road.

I can definitely say that Watchdogs 2 was my favorite out of the series. I completed Watch Dogs 1 and I really loved the story but it was missing aspects that made it feel like you were this hacker vigilante. It felt more like a revenge story than anything. It had some fun portions in there but it felt like it could be better is what I left with. Watchdogs 2 captured that whole 'hacker vigilante' persona so well. There was not one thing that I felt was wrong with Watchdogs 2. They encompass what a open world game should be, great story and characters, and fun combat from non-lethal to lethal options. Watchdogs 2 will always be one of my all-time favorites games in there on my top 10. I haven't played Legion because I've mainly received a mixed bag of reviews saying "it's bad" and "it's good", so I'm still deciding on that. I will leave off with that this game is now 8 years old which is crazy how great it has aged. I hope more companies or indie devs can take inspiration from this game and expand on it more in the future. The whole 'hacker vigilante' genre is somewhat of an untapped market. Lastly, Watchdogs is the only game that's based around this genre. If you can name me another game with this kind of genre, you'll get a sic high five lol.

I couldn't get the platinum on my playthrough of watch dogs one ultimate edition as some of the progression wheel involved online content and it gave me two distinct problems 1: nobody even touches on the topic of watch dogs online the servers are empty and you can't even play with friends as I'm sorry the server's are down wait 5 years or a lifetime for those 2: this games loved xbox live for its money and i needed xbox gold which I'm not willing to pay for Thus I could have ended that game with platinum trophy but I was screwed over by online being a part of progression and lack of servers and people and membership to play with

Ubisoft really should of went the Ezio route with the franchise after 2, in my opinion. I love the idea of Legion, even got to see it before anyone else, but the execution left it as the least interesting WD game to me. Now it doesn't seem like the franchise will get a new game for a very long time. I at least appreciate that people are looking back on Watch Dogs 2 with a new found respect. Just wished it happened when the game launched, but instead never had a chance with the reception and deception of WD1, and fans of said game not liking the complete tone shift and wanting their more serious edge back.

Just finished replaying Watch Dogs 2 a month ago and I really enjoyed it! I was trying to go for 100% 🏆 but I never could get a bounty to trigger online so I gave up on it. I did get the rest of the trophies so I am satisfied. Also Horatio death comes out of left field. It feels like they randomly killed him off cause they didn't know what to do with his character. Still a great game though. I prefer Watch Dogs 1 and being the vigilante. The online is way more active than this game and Legion.

I would say if you ever fancy going back and getting those last few trophies it seems now is the best time as I managed to get them done quite quickly. Agree with your thoughts on Horratio though. They could’ve done way more with his characters and bring the Tezcas into the story another way. It did feel like after that mission though horratio was kind of forgotten as I don’t think he’s even mentioned again after that
