From Greenville S.C… we got hit but definitely not as bad as western N.C. Everything seems so surreal. I was just in Asheville a month ago, and now everything I saw is gone. 😞 Make sure y’all donate to Samaritans Purse, they’ve been doing the absolute most help from day 1.

I'm an Old Fort resident. Our little town is devastated. However, we will get through this. I can not possibly thank people enough for the help they have given. I dont understand why people keep on about our officials. We knew it was going to flood. We knew it would be bad. There is no way to prepare for the worst flooding our area has ever seen. The government is helping and all those saying otherwise aren't here. When its your turn, you'll see.

The climate hasn't changed. There were huge floods in Tennessee back in the 1920s and the government responded by building a bunch of dams in the 1930s under the Tennessee valley authority. Not every valley got a dam though and those were the ones that flooded.
