Being a Peter Obi supporter, although I may not have liked what Father Mbaka said, however, one cannot but admire the democratic spirit of the Igbos, who do not follow a candidate or aspirant blindly as a bloc - simply because the aspirant is Ibo. This is unlike most other major tribes in Nigeria, who will let blind loyalty to their 'son of the soil' or religious affiliation silence them from speaking out their grievances. Other tribes may mock Ibos for such disunity but ideally, other Nigerians should emulate the free democratic spirit of the Igbos to speak out their minds and make their individual choices, and not be silenced and pigeon-holed by the traditional leaders of their society into a tribal alley for the purpose of securing a Presidency. Most Igbos only support one if they truly believe the person is competent and can deliver for the whole country, and not just for the Igbos. And if an Igbo appointee or elected person doesn't perform well, be sure Igbos themselves will lead the stampede to call him out for removal. Igbos in their traditional democratic governments accommodate dissenting voices. I am sure Peter Obi, haven been born in the culture of Igbo democratic spirit, will not bear any grievances to Rev Mbaka or expect that every Igboman will support his candidacy 100 percent. The Igbo democratic culture right from ancient times has always been robust. There is allowance for dissenters and freedom of speech - as long as the speaker or dissenter is not threatening anyone with violence.

This is the difference between the catholic church and other christian churches.
