Hey friends! Here is the link to the video I mentioned, which talks about why Duchess is currently by herself in her paddock. Starting 2025 With Bad News About My Horse and Finn kzbin.info/www/bejne/mqa8m4B6pMxqaa8 Make sure to set your picture quality to 1080p for a clear image! This was a pretty scary moment for Duchess and me. The initial sounds, howling and screeching, were incredibly loud, coming from behind us in the field beyond the stone wall. Although I wasn’t able to capture her first reaction, I did manage to get her second spook on camera. In this video, I try to show just how remarkable horses’ instincts are, what can scare them, and why it’s so important for horses to be in a herd rather than on their own like Duchess is right now. I hope you find it interesting! If you do, please give it a thumbs up, I’d really appreciate it! 🙏🏽❤️ To watch more of my barn vlogs, simply tap on the link below ️kzbin.info/aero/PLJ7sXHuN5ExiyfQ-7ul0a19hqb2OTzRcr To watch more of my horse ASMR videos, tap the link⬇️ kzbin.info/aero/PLJ7sXHuN5ExhBGUv9t2jbdGoYZ665Pr85 If you’re interested in watching my unique and relaxing SALT LICKING videos, tap on the “Salt Licking” playlist link below kzbin.info/aero/PLJ7sXHuN5ExjMOEvw28dJpnEl4eAtx-Jc

Right! That’s what it seemed like to me, but I wasn’t 100% sure. Thank you! I’m so glad I was there too. But, it has me wondering, what would I do if the next time it’s coyotes? 😭 I think I should make a video about that, and get everyone’s input! 😱

🥹Oh my goodness Mary!!! I’m beyond grateful for your incredible generosity, kindness and support of my channel! Your donations make such a difference for me, they help cover a portion of Duchess’s expenses, like her board, vet care, and even exciting things like her upcoming DNA testing. Owning a horse comes with so many responsibilities and costs, and I honestly never thought it would be possible for me. But horses have been my passion for as long as I can remember, and your generosity not only helps care for Duchess but also allows me to keep creating content that I truly love. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for believing in me and what I do!!!! ❤️‍🔥🙏🏽🥰

🤔🤔The screeching was like no other, a b-reel horror movie scaring the locals. Was that beagle going through the fence chasing something? The commotion sounds like hunters tracking prey, and maybe Duchess, a prey animal herself, has been pursued before and was having a flashback. The hunts that stalk and trap animals are inhumane. Hope you're right about the man's dogs having escaped, as I didn't see him carrying a hunting rifle. Duchess was submissively moving her mouth; as you said, she was feeling relaxed and then her donkey ears flipped right back up a few times after her feeling relaxed.

I’m not sure if the dog was chasing something or trying to get back to the other dogs. I’m glad you enjoyed the video. It was a nerve wracking moment. 😅 I am a huge animal lover, it always breaks my heart seeing animals pursued by other animals, it’s just hard to watch 🥲

Duchess was thinking I’m up in age and do not have time for any madness today. 😆 I can hear the dogs screeching and it did sound like one of them were in pain or attacking something but I guess not which is a good thing. Glad to see Duchess calmed down with your guidance 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

She’s pretty wise for her age and I’m sure glad she kept calm with me!! I’m just worried that it could very well have been coyotes 😨 What would I have done? No idea. 😬

@ Understandable and glad you were present there is no telling how Duchess would have reacted if you were not around which was a bit unnerving. Is there something like an additional barrier or something you can put in place to distract coyotes from coming onto your property where the horses are or set up cameras or something where Duchess can hear your voice from far away. I’m just glad Duchess knows when mama is around everything is ok. ❤️

Actually, your Dutchess was pretty calm compared to some of the horses I've known. My Dutchess would have been snorting and pawing the ground showing she's ready for a fight. Arabs would have been even worse. They'd be bouncing around ready to bolt. Regardless, I'm glad things are all right. You can't relax around an upset horse. Good luck.

Please remind me, what breed was your Duchess? All of the other horses on the farm would have reacted far more intensely than Duchess, she is most definitely the calmest horse at the farm. Oh especially Avery… he would have been bouncing all around, like you said!!

My Dutchy was a premium Holsteiner brood mare brought from Germany with the highest rating possible. We got her for a song after her original owner, Uda Emmerich, sister of director Roland Emmerich, decided to cut her loose and left her at Blackenstone Ranch in Hidden Valley. California. They put her out in the field with a bunch of other horses, and when we were looking for a new horse to replace our dead Arab (we decided no more Arabs - they're beautiful but too prone to stones from where we lived), she was out in the field looking and Dutchy went right up to her like she was saying "get me out of here." We bought her with two breedings to Asi Del Oro, a member of the Mexican Olympic team, and had a filly and a colt who became two gold-ranked horses as judged by the American Holsteiner Association when we registered them. The boy was an utter lover who adored girl visitors (the ham would even pose for pictures, no fooling) while the girl was as headstrong as Momma, but I had raised and trained both so I was Daddy and when she was misbehaving, I'd (gently) rap her on the snout with my knuckles, tell her to cut it out, and she'd back off. Due to circumstances beyond our control, we lost the horses and I'm not aware of where they are, although they are chipped and registered, so it is my hope that one of these days I can track them down and regain Mom and my kids. They were an awful lot of work, but I miss them terribly.

@@michaelmayo Sounds like Dutchy knew exactly who she wanted to go home with that day. Her foals sound amazing too, thanks for sharing. It must be so hard not knowing where they are😢, but hopefully, with them being chipped and registered, you’ll be able to reconnect someday. Wishing you the best in finding them🙏🏽

Those were beagles hunting rabbits. They squeak, squeal and sound like they are getting killed when they are hunting rabbits.

Do you ever offer them alfalfa? Also, maybe give them a special treat in leaving...Just gives her a warm hug from momma, to think about after you're gone for the day.

Wow, what a scary sound coming from those little dogs! Just incredible. Scared us for sure😅 They looked almost the same size as a raccoon, I bet they were after a squirrel, there are so many squirrels around there.
