You're the best horse Mom ever! I'm so glad that Duchess's condition is so excellent and I'm glad that she has you. Very sorry she lost Finn as her companion, but glad that a new friend (hopefully) is coming soon. Hope you feel back to normal soon!

❣💯💯 Comparing Franny's beautiful head to the Duchess, you can clearly see "donkey" ears on the Duchess plus her wider brow. Having some donkey DNA is a big plus for longevity. Congrats on everyone's blood work and looking forward to how you fix the mash to compensate for her missing molars. Feel better soon, great lady, and Happy New Year again 2025 ~~ is that hard to believe or what 💖

@@SoTheAdventure I eat mostly organics, drink distilled or electrolyte water and work remotely; we're having the horrible fires here in SoCal and I'm thankful I'm in NorCal ~~ we only get tsunami alerts, lol. Kathrine, I am so happy for you being the TLC of the Duchess who has the donkey longevity genetics. She is a good-looking older mare, not looking even half her bio age. Residents in SoCal got most of their equines in the hills out of harm's way; the owners had their bridles on and held their hands right at the end of the bridle by the mouth ~~ the human hand touch was great reassurance in the smoky conflagrations. These horses are members of their families as is the Duchess to you. Sending higher-minded vibrations your way; as challenging as things get, there is always an ending and a new rebirth. 🤩

Hey, what about giving her Alfalfa! Is that an option for Duchess? ❤🐎❤️ Yes, If she had donkey, she would be considered a mule. Male mules can not get others pregnant. They are born that way. 😔

Duchess wears a blanket in harsh weather like freezing rain, strong winds, or blizzards. She has three blankets that were generously donated. Most of the time, though, she doesn’t need one, she stays warm by eating hay and her thick coat keeps her dry and insulated, even in the snow. She often chooses to stand outside in the snow, and while the top of her coat might get wet, the hair underneath stays dry and warm. She’s built to handle the cold, so I just make sure she always has plenty of hay to keep her warm naturally. Blankets can also be risky if they don’t fit right or come loose, so I only use them when the weather is truly extreme and always make sure they’re secure. My priority is keeping Duchess safe and comfortable. ❤️
