This is an amazing restoration and repair job. I think the stool is now better than when it was new. The color matching on the new leg was so excellent. Thanks you for another great job and video!

This is the first time I see this technique to produce a curved leg out of veneer slices. And I have seen hundreds of (antique) furniture restoration videos. Kudos for that from your old critics Jörg from Brandenburg (because of not using hide glue for joints) You are a master, even without hide glue ;-)

И реставрация готова, предмет снова, как новый. В этом и состоит чувство собственного удовлетворения от сделанной работы. Аплодисменты, маэстро! 👍👍👍👏👏👏💥💥💥💯💯💯🤔🤦♀️🙋♀️

I had a modern piano stool like this, and ultimately threw it away because the legs kept breaking. I couldn't even use it as a plant stand. So I got an antique piano stool with a swivel seat that raised and lowered on a huge internal screw mechanize, just like the one in the video, and all has been well since.

I used a similar technique to replace the rockers on a child size rocking chair. The original rockers were too weak to use as forms to bend the new oak laminations, so I traced the rocker curve on a 2 x 6 to make a form to bend the oak laminations. The seat banding repair was very nice.

Well done! I was impressed by the complexity of the leg repair and the simplicity of the broken screw repair. I noticed that while the seat was inverted on the bench that at some point in the past the screw appeared to have been removed, spun roughly 45 degrees, and reattached. Is that why the seat spun uneven on the screw at the end or was the seat not a perfect circle?

There's nothing more annoying than having to hand-screw something together kzbin.infoUgkx1McjgiqTNcTjrhvRvJWcrk5bzTeQW-Wn except for the pain in your wrist that is. This addition to my tool kit is great and I can get a lot done without all the pain and annoyance. The battery last's a long time and I have yet to run out of power when doing a small project (granted I am saying small project because I'm no construction worker). The only thing that I wish it had was an LED or pair of LEDs to indicate when it was charging and whether or not the charge was complete (or full).

You didn't explain well where the piece upon which you assemble and conform the plywood layers comes from. If it is the original leg, the curvature of the new piece couldn't be correct.
@atrestorationplus2 жыл бұрын
It was part of the old leg, I just added new layers to it and curvature was the same.
