i always knew figurines/GKs were expensive cos resin itself is expensive, and that designing it must be difficult, but this video really helped me see the breakdown of *how* tedious it can be and why designs take so long to produce. the fact that you all made something this beautiful this quickly, even with all the troubleshooting problems, is INSANE. i'm a 2D artist, and have always admired sculptors for being able to make shit make sense from all angles, but especially when working from art as stylized as sailor moon, this is a breathtaking feat of ingenuity. y'all are rockstars, and i'm excited to see you taking off with making your own GK designs and bringing them to life!

Awww, I still remember the first time I saw Naoko's manga illustrations (as opposed to the anime). I was in fourth grade at my local library. My little brain exploded and from that moment I fell in love with her art style and went on to spend a good 5 years practicing drawing based on that style, giving all my Barbie dolls makeovers to recreate the scouts, and generally being obsessed. It cannot be overstated how big an impact Naoko's work has created for so many people. ❤ So much respect to you and Sam for bringing that gorgeous illustration to life! Also, this is off topic, but I looove that shade of your lipstick!

Hi Leona. loving the videos. I just have a Pro tip for removing prints from the build plate. Instead of holding the plate by the top when removing the prints, try holding the build plate. Its helps reduce un-aligning the plate and you should get more prints out of it before you need to realigned it. I rarely need to reset my build plate by doing it this way

Glad to hear you survived AX! As for why you should try to remember to wear gloves when using resin: you can develop an allergy after repeated exposures. Same for having really good ventilation when using resin (especially sanding the clear stuff!)

The first time I saw the manga version (after loving the anime for a while), the characters felt so ethereal. To my 7 yo self it was probably like seeing angels, lol. I get similar ethereal vibe looking at your finished work 💜 You and Sam did an amazing job! 💚 I always loved that blue to yellow gradient on her collar, I wish anime had it. And the way you did that marble effect is genius!

Really dig the pastels. Looks like it popped out of the cover. I have a hypothesis on why resin doesnt irritate your skin. You have sanded so much a microscopic resin layer has formed on your hands lol

Using Siraya Tech Tenacious at a 30/70 ratio or even 50/50 ratio will help with the brittleness and hardness of your prints. A little expensive but it's worth it. Tenacious is a flexible resin, will need to change some settings in your slicer though most likely.
