One of my favorite lessons I've ever watched. This is me to a T. I was finally able to fade the irons again. I made so much progress on the range after watching this video. Great job Rick!

I researched it a little bit... He was Jack Nicklaus coach when Jack won the 86 Masters. Also Phil, Vijay, Lee Janzen, John Daly, David Duval, Greg Norman, and Paul Azinger.

Rick is a great coach, seen several videos of his teaching, nothing over complicated

This guy, what a coach!! How can you not improve by listening to him. Basic, easy to understand instructions.

This guy hit 320 in high school... He's probably 350-360 now.

Yeah.....there's some fine-tuning that needs to be ironed out, but the big guy still has a fairly good looking swing - for an amateur! Give the guy his due!

The hand pressure down was the key to improving his turn

How old is this guy? He coached Jack Nicklaus?
@chachichochacorta85772 ай бұрын
He was hitting his 6-iron (?) 140 yards. Then makes a slight swing change, Rick tells him to swing some stinger shots, and he's choking down on the club hitting 3/4 punch shots at 140. Rick admits that he's a "180-yard guy" with that 6-iron. He probably can't hit it 320 like he did back in the day, but I'll bet he's still hitting 260-280 these days.

I thought it was 140 full shot then improved to 140 with a 3/4 swing. His upper body movement did improve. But not quite there yet. I am not as fan of a coach being overly positive. His body shape might ne preventing him from getting that elbow in front of the hip. I used to chicken wing that left arm. I don't know why. I couldn't stop doing it. Eventually it disappeared. Hmmm

@@golfish8589 Yes, I don't think he has the same body he did when he was in his 20s and bombing them 300+ yards. However, when Rick asks him to turn his hips, the guy clearly has mobility. It's his gut that's the issue.

He hits driver 320 carry in his dreams.

Good lesson, but had to chuckle for a second when he said he hits his driver 320. All power to you my dude but that’s not a 320 swing. Neither carry, nor total. Not even close.

But look at that foundation!

I have to give it up to Rick for not busting up laughing when he said that. He worked with so many tour players that actually could carry that number...Phil, Daly, Vijay. You know in his mind he just wanted to scream BS.

there is some merit to his physic causing some swing issues, but the main culprit is his weak as kitten grip - very surprised rick didn't touch on that, the student has zero pressure on top of the grip - he can move like an olympic athlete but that grip is going to handicap him:)
