The reason the government is forcing the tax payers for plugging the wells in California is because with all of the regulation the regulations were never enforced, thus the operators walked away from the wells and now the tax payers get to pay for the plugging and abandonment of those wells. To be fair, she probably meant 1.9 jobs for every American who is _able_ to work (so, no children, no seniors, no long-term sick or disabled people, etc.). I was in oil, for 13 years in California. I just left California that lady is lieing when it comes to oil jobs. Companies aren't making changes or investing a lot of the oil leases are out dated. The company I worked for called bry had spent more on a solar project then the actual oil project. Then the solar didn't help out if the power went out we were still with out power.
