Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Michael Regan is slated to testify on oversight of the agency Wednesday before the House Oversight and Accountability Committee.
The meeting comes after the Supreme Court recently voted 5-4 to halt the EPA’s “Good Neighbor Rule,” which regulates interstate air pollution. The ruling was the latest move by the conservative-dominated court against the environmental agency’s regulatory authority.
It also comes just months after the agency set the first-ever national limits for toxic and pervasive ‘forever chemicals’ in drinking water.
The event is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. EDT.

If we didn't have a single factory, in factory is our country we would be the poorest country in the world and our people would all starve to death

Love Ms Brown and the discussion about the cleanup of rivers and water bodies in the Cleveland and Great Lakes areas. I've toured those areas and am looking forward to more touring of the area by bicycle, motorcycle, etc, and as someone who spends lots of time outdoors camping, fishing, etc, I really appreciate the efforts of the EPA and our government to preserve the wonderful natural areas in this part of our country. More work to be done but great progress being made there.

OMG, I listened to Mr Gosar and for the first time I think what he had to discuss and question was reasonable. Funny how watching the whole hearing changes your perspective. Good for you Mr Gosar. Loved that exchange around 46 m in.

Ms Ocasio-Cortez might not know it but she’s hitting all RFK Jr points in his 2001 lawsuit against DuPont. It’s a shame the party shunned him when he’s the only making any sense. It’s thanks to him we even know the effects of PFAS. Shout out RFK Jr for laying the groundwork for her to hit these points about the chemicals poisoning us.

Mr Grothman raised a really important issue affecting poorer people and their inability to afford an automobile that would comply with modern emissions standards or goals. We need to do more to help Americans do the right thing and upgrade their transportation to reduce GHG pollution, and not JUST go to a full EV, but make it easier to get automobiles that emit less (e.g. higher MPG vehicles, hybrid vehicles, etc). The idea that everyone can jump to an EV is just fantasy right now. We don't have the charging stations in place yet or economic wherewithal to do that yet and I feel like it's being thought about as all-or-nothing when there are many options and steps that would improve things greatly. I'd like to see some kind of incentives that help Americans upgrade their automobiles to higher MPG, lower emissions including gas and hybrid cars, not just EV's.

Mr Timmons raised a valid concern regarding delays in approvals of chemicals used in auto and chip manufacturing. But, he threw up a chart that didn't have a label on the vertical access and so it was hard to understand the data. Does anyone have a URL for where I can review the data Mr Timmons threw up? I'm curious to learn more about that issue.

Where was the EPA to take care of our drinking water? The drinking water is you can't even drink the water in this country. They send notices to you. If your immune system's low don't drink the water because it's got chemicals in it. Where was the EPA?

Did anyone understand what Mr Palmer was talking about w.r.t. lime and concrete production? I know that concrete production is central to so much of our economy and it's also a significant source of GHG's. What is the issue they were discussing and where did the $2B figure come from that Mr Palmer was referring to?

Mr Frost raised an issue that Floridians are dealing with that will become a very big deal for all of Florida and other coastal communities in the coming years. The sharp increases in localized and widespread flooding that are occurring due to climate change will threaten the quality of water from wells, and septic systems don't work when under water. Additionally, when septic systems are flooded they pollute the water that runs off. Millions of homes in Florida and in other low lying, coastal communities are going to be in trouble with the increased flooding risk caused by climate change.

I wonder why republicans wasn’t let him answer questions they asked, and when he says something they don’t like, they move on to other questions, do they even know what they are talking about? Do they even know how to be lawmaker?
